Surprise Surprise?

Well, it had to happen sooner or later... it doesn't seem like anyone could escape this variant of the virus and we weren't going to be less of us either.
Yesterday we received an e-mail from my son's school saying that one of the students in his class had tested positive for COVID, so they advised us to carry out antigen tests on him.
This morning, Max, my son, has woken up with some symptoms so we have done the antigen test and... surprise, surprise!
Positive.

We have immediately informed the health authorities and the school. Max needs to stay home for at least 7 days and then see if the test comes back negative.
The rest of us, we have also done the damn test, all negative for the moment but I would be very surprised if we are not...
While Max already has a fever and muscle aches, albeit mild, lying in bed, we can continue to lead a normal life, although repeating the test daily...
I'm sure Max, being 11 years old, is going to pass the disease without major problems.
What a shitty season that we all have had to live through, it is special to our children's generation.
Almost 2 years of pandemic, restricted freedoms, extra precautions... always with security measures.
Obviously, it is not a good scenario for young people who are growing up now, but it is what it is.

Have a good and safe weekend everyone.

Oh no 🙈! Well as you said it had to happen sooner or later and this variant seems the mildest so it might be a blessing in disguise.

Take care and rest well @toofasteddie. No running for you this week ! Maybe more blog posting then 😉

Thanks but if I'm ok tomorrow I will go for a run. For the moment, only my son is positive for the moment

I think the only upside will be that the next time this happens, the younger generation having been through it before, will follow precautions and it'll pass faster.

Hope your boy shrugs it off like most young'uns do, and the rest of your family dodges it.

Hope Max goes over it the "easy" way and you all do if you also get it. I am sure we will all end up going through it.
