Sunday whisky rendezvous

Today I went over to my sister's to borrow a drill from my brother in law. I need to drill some holes in some old plastic basins to plant more stuff to expand my Weed Garden. My Weed Garden is growing and I'm going to run out of space soon! I'll show you in a few days time.

Anyway, my sister and I were drinking tea in the garden, whilst hubby and BIL enjoyed a long overdue whisky session.

The guys get on very well together, both love their whisky and haven't had a chance to catch up properly since we've been back to UK a few months ago.

When we came back we got BIL a bottle of Craigellachie 13. Hubby tried it once at a tasting session previously and liked it a lot. BIL bought a Tobermory 12 from Scotland last year and was waiting for hubby to come round to drink it together. The third is a bottle of Dimple that our aunty gifted to BIL after our uncle died a couple years ago. Uncle's daughter in law bought it for him when she met him for the first time, and her son has just started university this year. That's how old the Dimple is. BIL had quite high expectation of this and was again waiting for hubby to share .

I won't go into the details of the whisky drinking session, only that they both had a very good time and enjoyed the Craigellachie 13 and Tobermory 12. Both were very good in their ways, I couldn't tell you exactly how as I don't drink the stuff. The Dimple was a disappointment, or perhaps they both had too high expectations of it. Apparently it was just so so, nothing to get excited about despite its age.

At the end of the session, the guys had drank about 1/3 of the Tobermory 12 and probably 20% of the Craigellachie 13. No wonder my sister said BIL fell asleep during dinner this evening 😆

Talking of whisky and lockdown, during our afternoon rendezvous, we've planned to go up to Scotland once we can move around again. My sister and BIL have been a few times, but BIL never had a chance to have a proper whisky drinking session as he needs to drive. I've offered to do the driving when we go so the guys can enjoy themselves. I know hubby would like that as it gets a bit boring drinking by himself even when the stuff is good.

Now we just have to wait.....

Before we left , BIL gave me some beanshoots that he grew himself. He had wrapped the beans inside a cloth and within four days the shoots have grown into a red football. When he turned the football over and unwrapped the cloth, the football opened up and the beanshoots blossomed like a flower. It's was quite fascinating!

It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, in the beautiful garden under the clear blue sky.

Thanks @bigsambucca. Still enjoying your time in Bangkok? Any idea how long you're going to be stranded there?

Hi @livinguktaiwan still enjoying my time here and making the best of it they say maybe mid July we can return to Australia but maybe my company may allow me to stay here longer as we have a back log of work to catch up with and i don't mind that at all 😊

How is it all going in Taiwan for you ?

Thanks Irene. Are you still in Vietnamese now? Are there any restrictions on going home for visits?

I've been here since mid March. Not able to go home due to both side country lock down.
Even if I can go back, not sure when and how I will be able to return back to VN.
In this case, better to be in VN for the time being.

That's tough, being away from the family for so long. I guess working remotely from back home till thing get back to normal is out of the question? You take care!

Unfortunately not unless I have the intention to loose my job permanently.
Sadly, with the current situation keeping the job is so important
