A Day Late and Always More Than a Dollar Shy

As with any Sublimely Beautiful Sunday, it must start off with some yummy food. I did some sausage. I must confess they makes these links at the butcher seasoned just right!

Some cinnamon rolls before I added icing.

Add to the sausage some potato cakes with eggs over easy.

Now for dinner let's do some sliders! Based off one of my faves, White Castles!

Get some water in a skillet and bring it to a boil.

20201018_180732.jpg

Dice up some onions and simmer them till they go soft.

20201018_181934.jpg

Add in some small beef patties. Notice they are on a bed of onions and water, not frying on the cast iron directly. This is the secret. White Castles are steamed!

20201018_182111.jpg

Make sure the buns are slider size.

20201018_182146.jpg

Place the buns on the patties so they get steamed as well.

20201018_183227.jpg

Make sure to have some American cheese to melt on along with some nice dill pickles!

YUM!!!!!!!!

Wow! You really put together a nice breakfast! I am sure it hit the right spot. I remember having White Castle in Connecticut, and there is one pretty close in Vienna, but, there is another somewhere else in Virginia. A town called Star Tannery, which I had to look up. It is close to the West Virginia state line.

Yours look pretty good, and I like the small size of them. I will take two, please.

Oh, yeah! Where you are going, there is nothing except that chicken place you like. :)) It needs a castle with a king.

Wait, what? White Castle steams their sliders? Fascinating! I don’t think I’ve ever actually had a WC slider. (I know, I haven’t lived!) But now I don’t need to because I have the recipe. Ha ha.

Great SublimeSunday post!

I think you've cooked quite a few things I'd enjoy. I make sliders with that same butter bread. It's so good! I've been eating a lot of turkey sausage lately with egg whites trying to diet. I could easily go for some cinnamon rolls and hash browns. MMmmm!

Breakfast looked amazing, as did the big tree and barn so picturesque!

"White Castles" never seen sliders prepared in this manner, awesome you gave a recipe to test drive.

Gorgeous views, excellent photography now you got my brain ticking over to try something new, thanks teaching an old dog new tricks.

I still can still smell the aroma of your homemade "Belly Bombers"! Never knew they were steamed and you're quite a cook, Paul!♨️🍔♨️

Here's some interesting trivia. The movie "White Palace" starring Susan Sarandon was based on a White Castle location nearby the home where I grew up in South City St. Louis @old-guy-photos

"Originally "White Palace" was to have been "White Castle", and in the novel specific reference is made to a real White Castle location at the intersection of S. Grand Blvd. and Gravois Ave. in south St. Louis, MO, but the White Castle chain wouldn't give permission for their trademarked name to be used in either the novel or the movie, or allow the use of any of their restaurants for film locations."(https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0103251/trivia)
