Blissful, Beautiful and Sublime Sunday

Sundays are family days for me. This Sunday had a beautiful surprise waiting for me as both my boys landed up at home after telling me all week that they can't make it. They brought some lovely roses and made my Sunday doubly beautiful. It was as though I suddenly got my energy back and my kitchen was the scene of some fast action. Breakfast, lunch, desserts all were ready in no time at all. I usually drag my feet around when none of the boys are not here. I hate cooking for just hubs and I as hubs is such a poor eater and a finicky one too.

The boys gave the dogs a bath and saved me some backache. We had so much laughter and fun even though it was just for a few hours. We caught up with each other on what's happening with them. The funny thing is that the boys speak to us twice a day every single day and yet there is so much we can talk in person.

The younger one is singing for a competition in college for country music, He had already won in a couple of genres including gospel music. He wanted us to help him finalize the songs he had chosen and we had him singing to us before we helped him decide. We spent some time laughing and talking and before we knew it was time for them to leave. Hubs packed all the dessert and the extra food so they could have it for dinner.

Surprises have a way of making a happy day blissful and sublime when that is what you dream of all day long. In the garden later in the evening, I was reminiscing about the days happening and enjoying the blooms there.

This different looking moss rose appeared a couple of months ago and didn't show up until now. It looks like a tiger with those stripes. I was wondering about how happiness makes the day seem brighter and more colorful. It changes how we look at everything in a fraction of a second.

Taking the dogs out for a walk in the evening I noticed that all the flowers were gone. The trees looked green and full of leaves lacking the brightness of the months before.

I was so tired so I lay down for a bit scrolling through my phone. I see these flower images I took some time back. This is one tree I would love to have for my bonsai. I got these pictures when hubs and I went out last Sunday to get some groceries. They looked so beautiful even though we couldn't stop or park nearby. I just clicked some pictures on passing. I got myself a few seeds as well from an online seller hoping to grow it some day. I need to germinate these seeds before the rainy season is over. They may not grow once the rain stop and the weather becomes cooler.

I tried listened to an audio book, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, a book I had meant to read again, but never touched in the last 20 years. Listening to it I didn't like the voice so much but didn't have so much energy to find another. So I listened on and slept after a while. LOL as she read on.

This was an image I took earlier in the day. It looks like I will have a good crop of onions. I need to get them out before the rain ruins them. This is my first time sowing onions. I enjoyed the green onions and now its time to dig it all up and enjoy the real thing. Each time a crop succeeds it gives me more confidence to grow more and try new stuff.

I have planted a lot of ginger which is doing well and the tomatoes which come up on their own. I just take them in plant them in prepared pots. It is fun because I never know what kind of tomatoes I will get until I see them fruit. I love these surprises from the garden as well, sometimes they are really good.

However, bliss for me is the peace that comes from everything little thing that I enjoy in life. Beautiful Sundays turning into sublime Sundays are no big deal. However, when a bleak looking day turns beautiful what else could it be but sublime.
