AN EXTRA HOLIDAY, OF COURSE!

I see people write that students get the most holiday and because I am a student, not a worker, I think I can relate to that story but I can't.

Maybe Students get to joy from almost every holiday that happens because somehow, it affects them but even that is not enough. And then, I even think that the category of students referred to in that regard are basic and high schoolers.

Holidays are always a delight because they give a chance to relax. It's often crooned that here in Nigeria we get so many holidays/breaks but I don't even see them. They're not as much as proclaimed. And then, not everyone enjoys the time especially those who are essential service providers, those who work in private-owned Institutes and those who own personal brands and/or work for one.

I don't work. I School. For certain, I know a lot of workers who would clamor for more breaks given that their salaries are not affected by a downsizing.

As a student, I want some more holidays. It's a marathon around here. Days piled up with classes and school work, night time barely enough for sleep because there's a spill of work from school to be done in form of assignments and of studying. The days fly fast, night flys faster. You barely get to lay down your head in the weekend and it's a new week again and the whole routine contine.

Currently, sside the general break holidays held for everyone, the only holiday i enjoy as a student happens between October and November. From December through to September, there's not a school-modified holiday. And having to bury my head in my academics day-in and day-out with little room to cool off steam can be overwhelming and exhausting.

I don't even know for what reasons as a student that I would want a break because I deserve a break. Everyone does. But then, I would like that Mondays be made a holiday. Some would say friday, I get it. I just think that Fridays are very short. It starts and ends off real quick unlike Monday.

Mondays are very official, strict, a little boring and can be quite long. It's a day when most people get a good chunk of the week's workload done, which can be a good thing, and somehow I have realized that it sets a pace for how the rest days of that week would go.

Besides too, when once Monday is over, it already feels like the rest of the week is done with. Time flies by fast after Monday.

Special days too should be Madea's holidays especially a day as a persons birthday. It's an important day of my life and I want to be relaxing, seeing a movie, sipping my drink, hanging out with friends/family, or just doing something, anything, I want that day. Being in school/work isn't so much fun on that day. And even when you try to spice it up and add some color somehow,the activities to be done somehow get in the way and don't give the delightful feel as would be if one were at liberty that day.
