The Interplay of Hard Work and Luck in Success

I have experienced luck several times in my life, and it all came through a little hard work. This is to tell you that luck is tied to effort and, thus, success. There should be something you are engaging in that will bring you luck one day. I think it will be foolish for one to fold his or her hands, expecting manners from heaven to fall, anticipating to be lucky through what? No, your hands should find something to do, working hard and hoping for luck someday. One thing I love about hard work is that it gives one experience and even skill during the process, and most times, one can fail several times while working hard but will learn life lessons through the failure. This is why I feel that hard work has more impact than luck.

I mentioned in my previous post that I once did a cleaning job for clients. This particular job requires that I move from one building site to another, seeking a developer who will give me a job after they are done with the whole building and finishing touches, then my team of five boys will do the cleaning for me while I pay them from the money I realized from my client and go home with the remaining balance. Sourcing for jobs is my work, including buying materials and equipment for cleaning while the boys do the main cleaning job. There is this developer that I met and requested that he give me a job; unfortunately, he said he has cleaners already who do the job for them every time. Perhaps he said that to dismiss me; I wouldn't know, but getting this client was hard work; keeping him and seeking more clients came with lots of hard work. I was always on the ground, training those boys and making sure that our work gave the client the utmost satisfaction. Unlike other madams, who will stay in the comfort of their homes to direct their workers, I was involved in all the cleaning contracts I got, making sure that we met deadlines and did the work perfectly. The more clients I got before I stopped the job for a reason, all came from my first client, due to how impressed he was with my job and delivery. It was an evident sign of hard work.

I was curating posts on the Dreamport website a few months ago, and I came across a post from Dreamsteem where she talked about playing games on the Dreamport Discord server that same day. I checked the time of the game, and it was just like an hour remaining for the game to commence. I didn't even understand the game in detail, but I went ahead and set my alarm, ⏰ waiting for this game. Unfortunately, something took me to the market urgently, and when it was time for the game, I was in a rowdy environment. You should know how the market is. This game requires that you join Voice through Discord and follow Dreemsteem's instructions. I joined the voice but couldn't hear a word due to how noisy my environment was. On checking the text channel, I saw people typing different numbers. I wondered what these people were typing, and on a second thought, I felt I should type too. And I started typing any number that came to mind, and within one minute, Dreemsteem screamed through text and said, Nkem won it! In my mind, I was like, What just happened? What did I win by typing numbers? Shortly, she typed that I had won 22,500 Dreem tokens (248 liquid Hive) for typing and guessing the right number, which was 26. Oh boy, I was super excited 😊. First, I was lucky enough to come across that post, which gave me a clue about the game and I made effort to join in and participate.

This is the moment I experienced luck with just a little effort. I will summarise this post by saying that whatever you are doing, keep doing it. I believe one day you will be lucky through your hard work.
