Some neighbors will never let you experience peace.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. The only way one can escape the inconveniences that come with living with neighbors is if we live in secluded areas and alone. Trust me, we all wish for that sometimes. Sometimes you wish to rest your head, but a neighbor stops you from doing that. Nothing annoys one so much more than when you need complete serenity but a neighbor deprives you of that.

Noise making sometimes keeps the environment a bit lively, but there's a time for everything and a limit for everything as well. There are times when you want to be productive, but as a result of the noise, you can't be or you become less productive. Sometimes I cannot make a post at the right time on Hive; it's all thanks to the apartment I live in.

Sometimes I wish it were easier to get a new apartment, better than the one we are living in right now, but all the apartments I have seen are way below standard, and the rooms are too small. Where I live, a lot of people own a generator and a home theater system; you just can't experience peace for a minute. The moment one turns off his own, the other turns on his own; sometimes all of them turn it on, and you can't even wrap your head around what you are listening to.

These guys I really can't wrap my head around their source of wealth because, despite the price of petroleum, they have their generators on for hours and sometimes even days. Sometimes at night, it feels like they are partying or something. You hear them shouting on top of their voices, like the music is loud, so they want to be heard, so they have to shout so loud. The painful part is that they live right opposite my room; sometimes when they shout or play this music, it's as if the music and shouting are coming from my room.

I don't know if it's just me, but I get easily distracted when writing a post. Every little noise goes straight to my head, and I will be forced to suspend everything and maybe continue when the noise is less; sometimes it is never less. You won't believe that we are so used to the noise pollution that each time I step into my apartment without hearing the sound of a generator, I feel strange or like I am in the wrong place. That's how bad it is right now.

We have called a general meeting countless times, and we pleaded that since this is a student environment, at least there should be a limit to the music and generator so some students can read. They only follow the rules set up for a few days and then go back to factory reset. A girl kept complaining, and they said she was jealous of them, so enmity kicked in, and they quarreled and rained insults on each other at every given opportunity.

I tend to reduce the level of noise hitting my room by keeping my window and door closed all the time, and in order to cope, I bought a rechargeable fan so I don't die of heat since I don't see these boys quitting to cause nuisance in the apartment. Soon I will be done with school and out of here; I just have to endure until I am done with my reason for being here.

Thanks for reading my post.

yeah.. having a noisy neighbor was a problem specially when you are a student that needs to study and seems like they are the type of people that you cannot reason with. If it was me, I do not know if I could last on that type of environment or just change place.

You will find it hard to focus in a noisy environment, I just have to endure it until I am out of here.

Sad to hear about the experience you are having, I know it's not easy for you to change your apartment and current neighbours are not letting you have peace. can't they stop even when you tell them that they are becoming the reason to distrub others.

I have tried to tell them countless times but all to no avail, so I just let them do their thing while I keep my door and windows shut to help reduce the noise.

Oh, I can't imagine how adversely affected the noise from those guys is. When you said you can't wrap your head around their source of livelihood - well, I won't want to jump to conclusions myself.🤣
One issue with student areas especially the one that the landlord does not live in oe have some level of control over who rents the hostel is that anyone can come and do shitty things at the expense of others. This is why I love my hostel in school, I got into the hostel as a brand new one and somehow all those who came in with me were not one to make unnecessary noise. Even when there were vacancies, it was only be a referral that you could get the room. We usually convene over who to accommodate. If your outfit has some sort of crazy dressing, my dear, you won't get the room.🤣
