Me as a student of federal university Nigeria

Hi everyone!
Every individual has tried one thing or the other for the first time but when it come to making money out of it and using it for crucial needs. we all have our experiences. Here are mine, I grow in a family where financially we were lacking in so many things. my parent were struggling to make ends meet. My dad business crumbled and my mom was left with all the responsibilities of the home...she practically provide everything the feeding, shelter and clothing. The clothing was may be once in a Christmas or sometimes there is no money to buy those clothes so we have to forget about those clothes and focus on our daily bread since that is the most primary need of humans.

Seeing my mom go through so many few works like selling of home made local drinks, firewoods, provisions, foods, tutoring, palm oil and vegetable oil in gallons and bottles she buys on credit after sells she return the money to the owner and takes the little profits she made from it.

Providing for us was difficult (I and my siblings) we were disturb on how to better our lives for good. mom took care of us from primary level to university, most atimes she borrows money from people just to feed and send us to school...I'm writing this with tears in my eyes. I just can't help it. She suffered so much just for us.

Fast-forward to my first year in school fortunately for me alone my auntie helped me with my school fees when I was Schooling in polytechnic after my ND (national diploma) for 2years she stopped, I thank God for her, God used her as a vessel to help me at my point of need.

How I started my business in school

I was lacking financially in buying of food stuffs and other things needed in school during my polytechnic days and the school is very far from home, so I decided to go into a business of making and selling of chin -chin one of Nigeria's popular snack, I decided to sell it in a cheaper rate for students to buy, but the surprising part of it is that I don't know how to make it neither have I seen any person making it before but I do know how it taste, I want to do it but I don't know how to even start...thank God I was blessed with creativity and I love making food so I decided to create my own idea on how to make chin-chin I tried and guess what it worked!!!!!!

Our cultural day in school 2018

Wow...I was so happy I made little and decided to try my luck by selling it to students in classes luckily for me I sold everything, the good news is that they love it. You can imagine how I felt so good and super excited, so I continue with my chin-chin business I do keep a bucket of it in a provision shop and I begged the owner of the shop to help me sell it which he did gladly and I supported it with selling of fullscalp paper for test in classes. I also added by carving of eye brows in a very affordable price in hostel.

With my little business I was able to support myself in providing for my food stuffs and all the materials needed in school

*After my ND (national diploma) in polytechnic I used my results to apply for direct entry in university for 200level while waiting for my admission I applied for a job and work in banks, schools, eatery but I was actually yearning to work in an eatery luckily I got to work as a waitress with little payment after two months the owner gave me a promotion to work in an iced cream shop alone because the owner was impressed by my neatness, and I was taught on how to make nice iced cream with different flavors. the iced cream shop is beautifully made with an AC for comfort and cooling and also with increment of salary with the added skills of making ice- cream for free, people do pay alot to learn this skills. What a added value I got by working there.

With my skills I can set up my own ice cream shop and make good money out of it...there is alot of profit in ice cream Business
,...aww it was lovely and peaceful I enjoy working there*

Me in an iced cream shop in 2019

With my new work I was able to assist my mom with the family expenses and to look good and take
good care of myself and also mom business grew for better by the grace of God and she was always paying for our school fees I and my siblings...few months later I got admission into the university as a direct entry to 200level.
I tried to combine the work with school, to do both together but it was stressful for me so I resigned to concentrate with my studies. Though I later started my own business of selling moi-moi (Nigerian food) which was going well before I got married.

Indeed my glory days showed up and my suffering payed off
Thanks alot for reading my blog

Note- all the pictures are mine

You really passed through a lot to catch up financial demands and the hardwork paid off.
I'm wondering the kind of boss you're now in these fields[chin-chin, ice cream, moi-moi]
