The hibiscus:

This is a Hibiscus flower, the cayenne flower. My plant is not doing very well, previously it was a very bushy plant and branched in all directions. My little pet turtle was the one who took advantage of the flowers of my plant and over time she ate so much of these flowers that in the end she didn't want to eat them anymore.

There is a lot of variety of color in hibiscus flowers, orange, white, and shades of less intense red.

The hibiscus plant grows everywhere, it just needs a warm environment where the sun hits it directly. Then you will appreciate it once it starts blooming with these beautiful leaf and pistil colors.

It’s a flower that has many uses in the kitchen. In an infusion it’s able to help in the digestive processes. It’s also a flower with antioxidant properties, it contains flavonoids, iron, vitamin B, calcium and other active principles that make it very beneficial for our body.

In my home I make the infusion for its hardly citrus flavor and it’s very refreshing. I invite you to try it if you haven't already.

There are no excuses for not growing this plant since even in a pot it reproduces in good shape. The only way it’s not suitable for planting is if the climate is very temperate, since it’s typical of tropical climates.
