Time Management, a Necessary Evil ⌛ IAAC #45
I Am Alive! 🌱
Ok, so I missed the UTC mark again for my IAAC post and therefore talking about time management seems appropriate. As someone who used to always be late and did all my studying for exams at an average of around 1 week before, time management is like some kind of mythical creature I can't seem to tame. It's kind of like Ash's Charizard. Uncooperative most of the time, but there when you need it the most. What up fellow Pokémon fans!
The only place I actually apply proper time management is at work. I think that's mostly because there is a set amount of time in which you need to accomplish stuff. Well, that used to be true, before working from home became all the rage. For the rest of the things in my life, I do have global time management, but never to the T. For example I may know that I need to reach goal A by the end of the month, but in terms of micro management my calendar's empty. This approach has worked so far, I think. The goal is still to become so financially independent that time management will matter less and less by the day, but until then it will remain a necessary evil.
How is your time management?

I am not great at time management , I just work on things as I go along. I might surf the net a while then move on to social media, email, ctp and ctptalk. Just whatever strikes me. Thanks for sharing your problem of time management at home, I think a lot of people struggle with this as well.
Sounds very familiar. 😅
Thanks for sharing your own viewpoint.

tokens.I think that a lot of people that work from home have problems with time management, and I'm one of them... When I had an offline company, it was like you said... Easy-peasy... You are at work from x to y, and you can create an "order"...
On the other side, working from home has that problem with "sliding hours" :) When you can do something "later", time is limitless, etc... :) So, my strategy is to create "mini-deadlines" for a certain tasks... For example, do something FIRST in the morning, another thing BEFORE lunch, the next one BEFORE going for a walk, etc... And, it most of the time works... :)
Sometimes I even have sliding days. Or I plan task A but end up doing task B instead. Splitting deadlines into smaller deadlines is an idea worth trying. Thanks for the advice.
You are welcome.. It works for me, which isn't a guarantee that it will for you... But, you can try... :)

tokens.I have a task list that I go through to make sure everything gets done, then just check them off one by one, the problem is that I sometimes go off task lol, and then I end up spending half the night catching up, but other times it's also some immediate problem that needs to be solved and I get the same result, so basically I need to reduce the number of tasks, not sure how though.
Haha, that's exactly what happened to me when I tried to do things that way. And sometimes I even forget about the list completely. The other problem I have with task lists is that make ordinary tasks seem like chores sometimes, which makes you want to do them even less.
Yeah I can see that sometimes it does feel like chores, on the other hand they needs to get done, so just keep working and find ways to reduce the number of tasks.
