An early evening stroll, Berat. Albania . May 22

So, after coming down from the fortress, check in to the hotel, quick shower and back out, into the setting sun. having snapped these earlier, I knew I would enjoy a stroll amongst the locals.

I read somewhere that Berat is the town of a 1,000 windows, I have no intention of counting them, they could be like sheep and I might nod off. Anyways, it is pretty damn obvious that there are at least 3,647 of them.

But first beer........

.....I was sat next to a table of local workmen, grafters, in dusty work-clothes with hardened calloused hands.
They were though very camera shy and not up for being photographed sadly.
On their way home the British worker would enjoy a couple of beers, these guys?
A strong coffee and a glass of water

Lovely wide boulevard led me to a public park where the locals were enjoying the setting sun

I guess when you do not have a garden, a park is your only contact with the natural world

I do find these communist era blocks to have a thing about them, not as brutal as other countries but still evocative of bygone times

Full Circle and a return to my hotel

I feel like every city would have at least 1000 windows. There are single highrises that probably have close to that many 😆

How to kidnap the rich

What you planning?

Surely people have more connection to the world than that??? Hopefully one day our species will find balance.

I planned to visit Albania in July this year, but we stopped in Montenegro. My friends told me that there is a beautiful Ionian Sea. But the communist era is palpable: roads, buildings...

Hi @olga.maslievich I must say Albania is one of the most pretty places I have ever visited, and wonderful food. Some places yes very drab and a lot of corruption in government
