Wednesday Walk | Vietnam's Independence Day on 2 September

I had wanted to share this post much earlier but with all the much needed task in hand, I decided to put it aside until I was free. This year is the second time I'm celebrating Vietnam's Independence Day. It's on the 2 September, a Wednesday but unlike the previous year, there were no fireworks. It was understandable since the Government was wanting to avoid crowds amongst its people - an absolute wise choice.

Nevertheless, it didn't stop the patriotism of it's citizens. People were still displaying the national flag in their officers and even homes. Many even wore a t-shirt with their national flag embedded in it. The unity and love of the people for their country is outright clear and strong. In some ways, I'm envious of the strength of its people. If only it was the same for mine.

I took these photos when I was walking back from the local market near my apartment on the morning of this day. It was after all a public holiday and with not much food available in my fridge, I had to get out and buy my breakfast. As I walked back home, I noticed many of the houses had hung the national flag outside their homes. It was really beautiful to see them all.

Is this the same in your country when the day of your independence is here ? Do the people display flags outside their officers and homes too ? Are there celebrations such as fireworks or parties ?

I pray that I would be able to return back to my country and celebrate it's Independence Day next year 🇲🇾

Oh wow that is such a gorgeous little street!

I love how as small as it is, everyone still has little trees every where.

We all need trees...

Great to see the flags hanging everywhere and I thank you for sharing these great photos!

See you next Wednesday! 😀
