Photo Walk at the Reservoir - #WednesdayWalk

avatar

After quite a few days at home I went for a walk at the reservoir last Sunday morning.

This post is dedicated to the #WednesdayWalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay - more information about this weekly challenge at the end of the post.

Photo Walk at the Reservoir

Johann Piber : Wednesday Photo Walk

After some rainy days it was dry and the sunrise looked very promising as you can see in the photo below. I have photographed this tree at the water quite a few times before and right behind me there's a large farm field or better said meadow with many wildflowers, where I wanted to take some photos on my way back.

I had a nice walk along the lake and through the forest until I realized that instead of brighter the sky got darker. Unfortunately a short time later it began to rain, not much, but enough to get wet. But that didn't stop me from taking a few photos on th eway back to the car.

The meadow has been too wet, of course, but I have found some nice objects along my path. This shiny Green Longhorn was sitting on a leaf right next to me when I took a short break in the forest.
@faltermann, please correct me if I am wrong with the name :)

Shortly before I was back at the bridge where I had my car parked, I met this nice couple of Tufted Ducks. Luckily I had my long 150-600mm lens with me, because they were swimming far away from the river bank.

I want to show you this little Daisy which was growing in the middle of the path. At first I wanted to use it for this weeks #AlphabetHunt challenge of Barbara @barbara-orenya, but this time I want to try to find some not so obvious things.

She is not as round as the other Daisies are, and also bent on one side. Even the raindrops can't make a beauty of her, but I liked this little flower that grew alone in the middle of my way.

I almost forgot about this beautiful small butterfly which I have found on my way home.

There have been big yellow daisies in a meadow beside the road which I wanted to photograph. These photos haven't become any good, but while I was walking through the grass I have seen this little blue guy which was sitting in the grass together with a brown butterfly of the same species. Of course I have made more photos, but these are meant for a separate post.

The Butterfly

The butterfly, an idle thing,
Nor honey makes, nor yet can sing,
As do the bee and bird;
Nor does it, like the prudent ant,
Lay up the grain for times of want,
A wise and cautious hoard.

My youth is but a summer's day:
Then like the bee and ant I'll lay
A store of learning by;
And though from flower to flower I rove,
My stock of wisdom I'll improve,
Nor be a butterfly.

by Adelaide O'Keefe

So, that was it for today, now I'm going to search for some D-things for the #AlphabetHunt challenge of Barbara @barbara-orenya.

Take care, stay safe and healthy!

It was early in the morning and the butterfly and his friend were still very tired and moving only slowly, so I had almost any time of the world ;)
As said before, if I don't forget I always love to join the Wednesday Walk 😉

Thank you very much for your kind words, JJ, have a great afternoon 🙂

I don't think that I will see the sunset tonight ...

Maybe tomorrow will be better, but I don't think so 🙃

I loved this "ugly" daisy from the first moment on :)
Yes, the butterfly was a very cool find - the morning sun was still low and lit the scene nicely. There were two of this kind of butterfly and both didn't move fast. I think, they were just waking up when I found them. So I could take a few of these quite nice photos :)

Thank you very much for your kind compliments, @bambuka, I really appreciate such nice words from you 🙂

I noticed that insects are easiest to photograph in the morning. A cool night makes them inactive. In the afternoon they fuss a lot, they have a lot to do.

These are not just compliments, Johann, I say what I see, you have great photos:)

It’s noticeably colder, there are dark clouds in the sky, but sometimes the sun peeks out .. I hope this does not stop me from testing a new home-made lens from the lens of a slide projector :)

Have a good day!

Good morning @bambuka 🙂

That's completely right, but they also calm down when the evening comes and it gets colder, but I do prefer the mornings when there's still some morning dew on the plants and also on the insects.

We have had such a weather yesterday, but today the sky is mostly blue and the sun is shining. I think we are going to have a quite nice day, although the weather forecast predicted rain ... but who believes in the weather forecast? 😉

I wish you a great day too and may the weather be fine enoughfor you to get some photos with that interesting lens-thing :)

Hi Jo 🙂

thank you so much 🙂 it was so good to go for a walk there after a quite few days not walking. The rain was good for the earth and the plants and everything has got so much greener.
This daisy stood there so alone and I couldn't pass it without taking photos. Although it does not look as beautiful as the other daisies do, this daisy was a little beauty on its own.

This is my favorite hike, but after two and a half months in isolation ...

Thank you very much for such a nice comment, @truelovemom, and the Daisy is one of the loveliest flowers I know - this flower has its own special beauty which I like much more than roses or orchids.

Blocktrades will then tell you the Steem amount you have... all you need then is your active key and that's all.

I hope your business goes well and everything is fine with you and your family.

Have a great day @janton 🙂

Howdy sir johannpiber! Thanks for all this information. Is it easy to transfer the steem to ionomy? I think the steem shows up as liquid steem in our wallets but what do you click on when you want to exchange it to bitcoin or to go to ionomy?

Has your power down completed yet?

How is the virus situation there? Have they lifted travel restrictions?

Good evening @janton,

if you really want to use ionomy then I'll explain it to you later when I'm at home. But I didn't tell you that you have to trade there, but it all is so simple that I didn't need any help at all, but on the other hand I am Austrian, what makes it easier for me to understand complicated things 😁 lol

If you want to exchange Steem to Hive it's easier to use Blocktrades, because there you have only one transaction which you make in your Blocktrades account.

I'll continue later when I'm at home.

Hello @janton,

I just wrote in my other reply that it seems no exchange accepts Steem at the moment. Unfortunately, Ionomy is no exception.
So we will have to wait a few days until the whole dilemma clears up a bit and either the Steem will be accepted again or we have to search for alternatives to get our money back.

It seems so - I have just had a look at Binance - the links to deposit Steem there still don't work. I think we have to wait and hope.

Howdy tonight sir johannpiber! This comment was 3 days ago so maybe something has changed by now. Well, when you go to your steemit wallet and hit "sell" it takes you to the poloniex exchange so you can sell your steem. Is anyone doing that?

I have just tried to "sell" and you are right, I got to Poloniex, but I have never used Poloniex, so I can't say anything about it. It looks about the same as at Ionomy and Binance though. Ionomy takes Steem again since yesterday, but Binance still does not.

Yes, I think I have read somewhere that you can change Steem to a kind of Hive token and withdraw these as Hive to your Hive account, but I haven't done that yet. Ionomy works for me again and I like it because it is so easy. Binance is too big for me somehow.

I converted my steem to bitcoin in Steem-engine and then sent the bitcoin to another wallet. That other wallet is Waves. I really like it because it's like ionomy in that all you have to do to register is give them your email address.

I agree about Binance, it's too big and complicated, I was never able to figure out how to use it! lol.

I haven't known the Waves exchange - it looks good, but I think I'll stick with Ionomy, just because they take Steem and I don't need to convert them first 🙂

I know we are doing the right thing by believing in beer. lol. As far as hive, I have no idea but crypto as a whole..yes, so many billions are being pumped into it and with all the leading financial institutions and banks going all in, many cryptos will sky-rocket in price.
Not to mention blockchain technology is set to transform so many industries.

Oh that will be a wonderful day when that happens! lol. Vindication of sorts.

I found an interesting program that anyone can join for free and work their way up to the top level which pays $50 a month profit.

It's so cool because it's geared to help the very poor people of the world and the company does alot of charity work to help desperate people start making money. I love what they're doing.

It's based on a crypto also, the Wesa token, and that thing is doing great, it's value is already up to $12.50 and continuously rising.

At the top level all you do is login every day and they pay you $5.00 for logging in. lol. It's crazy good. Anyway, you are probably too busy to fool with it but this is great for kids and grandkids so if you want to check it out and see if anyone in your family would be interested in trying it you can check it out here:
https://weshareabundance.com/?u=janton

It's the only program I've found which guarantees everyone an income no matter what level they join at, even free! If you like what you see, there are videos listed at the top of the page, check out the one called More Income For The Same Tasks.

I have just found this out about weshareabundance.com:

Organisation: WhoisGuard, Inc.
Owner: WhoisGuard Protected
Address: P.O. Box 0823-03411
City: Panama

Why don't they want you to know who they are? This alone is enough for me to be more than sceptic, so I don't even want to dig deeper ;)

I don't know about the location sir johannpiber. Everyone knows the founder, his name and where he is so that part is all out in the open. They are helping thousands of poor people all over the world and that is what I love about them.

What would I ask them to learn more? Should I just ask them why they have the company under "WhoisGuard Protected"? I don't even know what that means.

Oh no, if you know him and if you trust him it is alright, but if I cannot find out who someone is and if he hides his or her data then they can tell me anything about their good deeds. I'm sorry for being so, but I have seen so many things in my life that I make always make sure that I'm doing the right thing before I give someone any money.

WhoisGuard Protected means that they don't want you to know who the owner of a Domain name is. Maybe they have their reasons, but to me it is suspect.

Good morning @janton 😀

nope, if possible I go home at 2 pm, but sometimes I have to stay longer to finish a work or so, or I go home earlier like today, because the weather is great ☀️

Normally I ride until mid or end of October. Even if it doesn't snow it will be too cold from November on. I don't mind the cold, but the asphalt will too cold and partly icy, what makes it dangerous to ride.

I'm at home now, but I'm too lazy to make a HowTo, so I give you a few links which will certainly help, and if you have questions I will try to help:
https://peakd.com/hive/@ervin-lemark/sell-steem-on-iconomy-buy-hive-power-up
https://peakd.com/hive/@clayboyn/a-quick-guide-to-how-to-use-ionomy-the-new-exchange-on-the-block

No, my powerdown is about 1/2 way through - another 6 weeks or so.

Our restrictions have been losened, the shops and restaurants are open again, but there are restrictions. Since today we are working "normal" again.
Our borders to Slovenia are open, but to get back to Austria you have to have a medical certificate that you are corony free or you go into self isolation for 2 weeks. But I think in a few weeks there won't be any restrictions to cross borders anymore - we'll see.

It seems the first wave is almost over here - now we hope, that there won't be a second wave.

Cheers and !BEER

Howdy sir johannpiber! Well, you'll have to let me know how you do it when you move your steem out of steemit.
Those links basically say to send your steem to ionomy and then they start giving instructions but I don't know how to send the steem anywhere. lol. Once I get in an exchange like Binance then I'm ok. Or ionomy, it sounds pretty easy.

0
0
0.000
avatar

Good morning @janton 🙂

Well, when you transfer your Steem to ionomy or another exchange which takes Steem then they are out of Steemit. But it works about the same with Binance and if you have a Binance account this might be easier for you, but don't take me for granted.

  • Log in to your Binance account
  • Go to Wallet / Spot Wallet
  • Search for Steem in the list
  • A message will appear telling you that you need a deposit address AND a memo - click on OK
  • Write down / copy paste the deposit address and the memo
  • Go to your wallet on steemit.com and from the STEEM dropdown menu, select "Transfer"
  • Copy/Paste the deposit address and the memo from into the appropriate form fields
  • If everything is correct click on "Submit"
  • After a few minutes your Steem should appear in your Binance Wallet where you can begin to trade/exchange to Bitcoin...

BUT
No Exchange Steem seems to be accepting at the moment - neither Ionomy nor Binance. There was a Hardfork happening yesterday and now it is all a bit weird and confusing. I am glad that I could get about half of my Steem out, but I would like to have the rest changed to Bitcoin too.

Howdy sir johannpiber! I am willing to bet that I am right about there not being a second wave but I don't know what to bet. Maybe some beer!

There are some great passive earning programs like the bitcoin market AI trading bot program. It has been exhaustively examined by some of the toughest technical analysts and big companies and they continue to operate in a transparent and stellar manner and are also making many people very rich. And there is no work involved so it is very easy money indeed.

The work comes first to earn the money to invest though, that can be hard. lol. And I have high hopes for the weshareabundance company because of their heart to help lift people out of poverty. Especially in this time the world needs more of that kind of help and giving and spirit.

OK, then I would need somebody who would invest a lot of money in me, so that I can invest this money to such a program 😉
I think I'll stick with my little beer tokens and hope that the Hive will overtake the Bitcoin 😂

That's my favorite place when I'm at home, because it's very near to where I live and I hardly meet other people ;)
You are right, after the rain or also early in the morning the plants and flowers are full of water droplets which make beautiful flowers even more beautiful 😉

Thank you very much for your kind comment, @kohsamui99 🙂

That is so nice when you can stroll through wet forest or park with no distractions and concentrate on taking the best photos i definitely enjoy it more the sounds of the raindrops falling of the leaves or flowers 😊

It's great that you can go out and spend your time at the Reservoir again.

The sunrise over the lake is magnificent with the gorgeous reflection of sunlight on the water and the tree is always fascinating with such scenery.

All of your photos are beautiful. In the meantime, my most favorite is the white flower. It's very gorgeous and looks refreshing, especially with the raindrops.

You were lucky to see that couple of Tufted Ducks. They are very cute.

Thanks so much for sharing. ;)

It is a very special flower that shows once more that beauty is in the eye of the beholder 🙂

Thank you so much again, @tangmo, your kind comments are always appreciated and make me happy 😀

Have a great day and take care.
