The Walk Begins

We decided to go a different direction today on our walk near the airport. We park the car I grab my camera and we head east to see the new sights in an area we have not explored yet. 👉

Our first view upon crossing the main road is a helicopter landing. There is wildfire burning about 10 miles away so there has been a lot of refueling stops at the aerport.

As we approach the community garden I capture a couple of the variety of sunflowers.

There is also an array of ornamental flowers to be seen.

A plane leaving the airport. You can also get a feel for some of the wildfire smoke hanging in the air.

Not the clearest shot but I put a lot of effort into getting this. I got down on the ground and contorted my body to try and get the perfect shot. Instead of perfect I got this. 😂 I do like the white pollen clinging to him though. 😁

Tow large tomatoes... one about ready to eat and one for later in the month.

A panorama of a portion of the garden with The Three Sisters in the background.

Some of the old west imagery inside the garden.

And a last shot on the walk back to the car of the natural environment of the Central Oregon high desert.

WOW, you took some fantastic photos there and I do love the old wagon and oh wow, the sunflowers- all of the flowers but my favourite is your 'failure'- your imperfect shot is the best I think because not only have you managed to capture such clarity and detail, but with the depth of field that you used- accidental or not, has given it a dreamy look and I love it.

Thanks you for sharing such a wonderful walk. 😊

Thank you very much! There are quite a few old wagons around my town. I'm not sure how old they might be but we are located on the Santiam wagon road, a route through the Cascade Mountain Range in Central Oregon, so they could have some age. Link to more info.

Sunflowers seemed to be the main attraction. 😃

The bee shot was in the shade compared to all the other bright sun shots. I was in an uncomfortable position, adjusting camera settings, trying to get something that looked good to my old eyes on the tiny camera screen. 😀 I'm glad you liked it. 👍

Thank you for stopping by!
