"THE SACRIFICE" - A HORROR TALE IN WATERCOLOR

This story had been published two years ago on Steemit as part of the series of watercolor art I made for that blockchain... I have been hearing stories that after the fork, the Hive blockchain emerged as a result of that circumstance and that some authors have been censored there and couldn´t access their account. Well, I hope they won´t do it with my arts. So while I can, I am reposting here on Hive this story.

THE SACRIFICE

People all over the town are happy and satisfied of what they have. Farm harvesting is their main source of living. A big town with huge population from a small village before made a huge growth because of the abundance of wealthy products that they export all over the region. It was a success for all farmers and people that live here. Also, one of the reasons why there are so many culprits and thieves who are trying to take advantage and roam around the town. At the center of the town there is a huge attraction where people gathered and enjoy the wonderful view of all markets from all over the corner.

Dark side of the town.....

Behind all of these things lies a dark side of the town that remains a mystery to all the people. People who live here are aware that it's dangerous to stay outside at night not only because of culprits or thieves. There are cases and incidents of missing people.... no matter what age, that are rapidly increasing these past few days. Women and young girls were the victims. The news spread all over the town and all people are aware of this scary circumstances.

The Old man´s story.....

An old farmer who lives in the city came from work and was tired. It was a tough day for him so he decided to sit for a while and have some drink. It was already dark and good thing he always carry a flashlight with him. As the old man was silent all the time, he heard some whispers from afar. The old man noticed that wile he sat on a bush next to an old cemetery. While he turned his head and sneaked on the bush, he was shocked on what he saw!!! Goosebumps all over the old man and massive sweat fell down his face.

A young girl was floating and some weird people dressed in black are covering her. They are wearing black old hoodie-like attire that you won't even recognize any of them. The old man was shaking and couldn't believe what he saw. He stayed on his feet for a while and bravely witnessed everything. This is how they do a sacrifice said the old man to himself. As the cult chanting finished, a silhouette appeared next to the girl´s body. It looked like it was the soul taken away from her. A weird light appeared and swallowed the girl´s soul. The old man witnessed everything and was shaking the whole time. The old man rushed to escape the scene and was so nervous and scared so that he forgot all his stuff and left them behind.

There are rumors that these cult people are all bandits and don't live in the town. They are probably trying to hide a secret organization that will destroy the town and conquer the land someday.

After the incident, the old man spoke to his fellow neighbors and shared what he witnessed. Now, in the center of the town.... there's a big sign warning all people and a curfew sign had been installed. Also the town is now guarded with armed security forces for the safety of all townsmen. People feel protected, and yet they won't go outside at night because of the curfew and the threat still remains in their minds including the creepy feeling about who is going to be the next victim!!!
