INKTOBER #11 DISGUSTING

avatar

Hey guys! I'm still catching up on the inktober corresponding to day number 11 with the word "disgusting". And what's more disgusting than your eye falling apart in life, showing how rotten you are inside as the bugs come out of your face. But its beautiful wearer doesn't care how repulsive you can see, she loves to have the company of her little creatures hovering around her skin, so don't look away and come with me to see the step by step of this illustration.

This drawing is inspired by a makeup made by my sister @mkup_klusm on Instagram (follow her clicking here;) ), although I have reimagined it a bit, since her makeup was about burns, but I love her for bringing a great idea to my inktober.

Materials:

  • Opaline Cardboard (A4)
  • HB Graphite Pencil
  • Black Ballpoint Pen
  • Black marker, fine tip

-Sketch:

start by drawing a cross in the middle of the paper, so that you have a guide to shape the face properly.

-Outline:

Taking as a guide the lines of the sketch, I outlined the entire face, trying to make the strokes as fluid as possible, because if I stopped for a few moments the pen would spill ink.

-Ink filling

With the thick tip marker, I added the black of the hair, taking special care with the locks, I didn't want a simple black base for all the hair, so I applied gently over these areas to get a lighter color.

-Final Touches:

I added a first base of points, then another layer, and then another and another, to get volume and depth in the wounds of the face, darkening more around the eye and worms to highlight them. Finally, with the black pen, I finished off all the small details left, like the hair strands and some scratches on the hand.

I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.

¿What is Inktober??

The Inktober is an initiative created by illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, with the aim of improving his artistic skills, but over the years has had a great impact on the international art community. The challenge is to make an ink drawing every day, hence its name, "ink" "tober" (October), although for the most part this is respected, many other artists prefer to stay in their comfort zone, so you can see illustrations made with watercolors, graphite, charcoal, digital and any existing technique.
