INKTOBER DAY #6 RODENT

avatar

Inktober Day 6/31 The theme for this occasion is "rodent" and I have taken a lot of creative freedom here, the rodent family is wide, so much so that I had three ideas for this illustration, one of them included a dancing Capybara (it was a very crazy and funny idea), the next idea included a bunny but sexier and a bit playboy style.

But sadly for your furry desires, I decided to leave behind the nsfw and focus on something more violent and a new challenge for my art, to draw a weapon, and it's not just the weapon but I've put it in the most complicated angle I could think of, yes, I know it didn't look very good, but it's a risk I had to take in order to practice this props class with some depth and dynamism.

Materials:

  • Opaline Cardboard (A4)
  • HB Graphite Pencil
  • Black Ballpoint Pen
  • Black marker, fine tip

-Sketch:

I started fighting with the gun, as I said before, I'm not used to draw guns, so it's not comfortable for me to fit them inside the illustration, but I gave the best I could because I wasn't using references so it cost me a lot to make my idea come true. Tip of the day: always use references, it gives more realism and credibility to your art.

-Outline:

The delineation was quite easy, I'm getting practice and apart from the gun there were no very complicated lines, so it was very fast

-Ink filling

One way not to leave your characters floating in nothingness, is to make those little triangles just below the torso, they look great and give you an easy closure in the illustration

-Final Touches:

Finally, with some transversal lines, I tried to give more details to the hitman bunny, but without overdoing it so as not to saturate the illustration with too many lines

Tell me in the comments that you imagine when you see this illustration.

I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.

¿What is Inktober??

The Inktober is an initiative created by illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, with the aim of improving his artistic skills, but over the years has had a great impact on the international art community. The challenge is to make an ink drawing every day, hence its name, "ink" "tober" (October), although for the most part this is respected, many other artists prefer to stay in their comfort zone, so you can see illustrations made with watercolors, graphite, charcoal, digital and any existing technique.
