The Sugar skull in Grotesque computing Beauty
Line art and pencil Drawing

(8 step Sequence)

Hello Dames and Gents,

The grotesque beauty, the inherence glimmer of the divine in the death.
Napa made a few other pieces of art like this mixing of, flowers and technology skulls a hard contrast line art drawing.

This is a series of eight-step sequences I took using pencils and pens to get to the final product.

In the next day or, so I'll work on digitally coloring this particular piece of art as well. Staytuned.

1

Start to lay out the rough shape that I want in pencil trying to draw light to capture the general feel.

2

The general concept down I start to push out more where want the flowers and vines to go.

3

I started to think of Dissecting when they have an animal pulled open with the little pins in it, so I added a few in to this.

4

With the form locked-in, I started to ink with the biggest items that were closest to the viewer first.

5

Everything is inked in now on a standard thickness, this is when I go through and erase the pencil drawing.

6

I start going through with the little bit of a thicker pen to pull the really dark black spaces, back... also start outlining a thicker line around main elements of the piece.

7

I go through and add some more finer details in to give a little more texture and the push and pull depth a bit more with crosshatched shadow.

8

Here's the final work of art. I bring it into light room to push and pull the colors to get it to a nice black and white before importing into illustrator to make it into vector.

I hope you enjoyed this micro tutorial of my process to develop the ink drawing. Tomorrow the next day to continue this and bring it into Illustrator to vectorize the artwork then into Photoshop color it.

Skulls and roses, a classic that never goes out of style! Perfect for a tattoo. My favorite part is when someone says is going to add more details, textures and darkness...Music to my ears! Thanks for sharing your creative process, i'm terrible when i have to do my sketches lol.
