Practicing Essentials

I was recently reading about Sean Cheetham's approach to learning and practicing organize and limit your time. By doing this you are forced to focus on the essentials. The upshot of this your work takes on an immediacy an expression of the essence of your subject.

For me, it is a possible pathway to breaking some of my procrastinating habits. This is most often a result of me becoming lost in the painting because I haven't organized, the palette or the priorities on the canvas or paper and start to wander away from the essentials.

His approach is also interesting in that he believes in leaping in (once you're organized) and dealing with any inaccuracies as you go along.

My aim is to make these a regular practice. So expect to see more.
