Mini 6x4" Raven Painting Series
Series of Ravens for Poe Exhibit
This is the 1st in a series of a series of small paintings that my wife, Amanda Turner made to sell in her art studio. I thought this one came out pretty nice! The canvas is pretty small, at just 6x4 inches.
For those who didn't already know, Amanda has a studio here in Los Angeles that opens to the public every first Thursday of the month. She's been working on some smaller pieces that are a bit more affordable to the collectors that would like to own a piece of her work without breaking the bank!
She originally did some ravens on large sized canvases to be shown in an exhibit last year in honor of Edgar Allen Poe. They were such a big hit that she decided to do these mini ones.
I hope you enjoy these tiny pieces of art! I will be rolling out the rest throughout the week. For as small as they are, they actually translated quite well once blown up on the screen. Thanks for looking!
Does she have a website? would love to see her work.
All we really have at the moment is a website for work purposes - http://pintsizeart.com
The site is more geared toward industry professionals for contract work, so it doesn't really have much 'fine art' on it. But have a look if you like!
must have one heck of a steady arm! that detail is fantastic.
Yeah man, her hand is crazy steady. You should see her day job work. She has to do prototypes for dolls like Barbie etc. They are so tiny and she has to make several exact copies that they use in china to mass produce them. You have to be super focused and can't have any kind of shaky hand.
I love it! And personally I prefer smaller canvases :D
Yeah, haha... Me too (for the few times I've actually painted something)
Have you shared any of your drawings? :D
That is really great! My niece has been doing these small three inch by three inch canvases. She has been using colored pencils on them and she is recreating album covers. It is pretty cool and she is really talented.
How cool! Maybe you should sign her up to Hive and she could post some of her work!
She would probably laugh at me if I suggested it. She is a typical teenager!
I love this @nuthman and I'm very partial to animal art and birds always fascinate me. The light and sparkle of the plumage is really bright and joyful.
Thanks! Yeah, the 'sparkle' is my favorite thing about this particular piece. I love the way she creates highlights and reflections on her work. It really brings them to life.
