El retrato número 22 de esta serie consistía en dibujar Benedict Cumberbatch junto a un amigo, realmente no sé quiénes son sus verdaderos amigos, pero si he visto que ha coincido en muchas películas con Martin Freeman, y hacen un excelente dueto en Sherlock Holmes, y me encanta la relación de ambos en la serie.

Lo primero fue realizar el encaje de ambos rostros en el soporte comencé con el rostro de Martin en la parte derecha, algo que me encanto de este retrato es que están usando sombreros de época antigua.

The first thing to do was to fit both faces on the stand, I started with Martin's face on the right side, something that I loved about this portrait is that they are wearing antique hats.

Con ambos rostros terminados comencé a aplicar tramas en el rostro de Benedict, iniciando des el área central donde se ubican los ojos, prestando atención en los valores observados en la imagen mediante la yuxtaposición de tramas, las áreas de luz las realicé con el uso de un borrador maleable.

With both faces finished, I began to apply wefts on Benedict's face, starting from the central area where the eyes are located, paying attention to the values observed in the image through the juxtaposition of the wefts, the areas of light were made with the use of a malleable eraser.

Luego comencé a aplicar tramas en los sombreros con un lápiz 10B creando tramas muy tupidas para crear una textura muy suave, sin ignorar obviamente las texturas de las telas y los brillos, el sombrero de copa usado por Sherlock es este caso, suelen ser sobreros de una tela más brillando, por esa razón realicé un difuminado en el área donde se reflejaba la luz, el caso del sobrero bombín usado por Watson suelen ser de tela similar al fieltro y por eso reflejan mucho menos la luz.

Then I began to apply wefts on the hats with a 10B pencil creating very dense wefts to create a very smooth texture, without ignoring obviously the textures and sheens of the fabrics, the top hat used by Sherlock is this case, they are usually hats of a shinier fabric, for that reason I made a blur in the area where the light was reflected, the case of the bowler hat used by Watson are usually made of fabric similar to felt and therefore reflect much less light.

Para realizar los cabellos realice trazos un tanto más expresivos en dirección de las hebras del cabello, siento que está en la forma más eficaz de lograr realismo cuando se trata de cabello, mismo procedimiento fue aplicado en el bigote de Watson y las cejas de ambos.

For the hairs I made more expressive strokes in the direction of the hair strands, I feel this is the most effective way to achieve realism when it comes to hair, the same procedure was applied to Watson's mustache and the eyebrows of both.

Para los trajes use igualmente la técnica de tramas superpuestas hasta conseguir los tonos presentes en la imagen de referencia. Me sentí muy feliz al finalizar este retrato porque era la primera vez retratando a dos personas en el mismo dibujo.

For the costumes I also used the overlapping weft technique to achieve the tones present in the reference image. I was very happy to finish this portrait because it was the first time I portrayed two people in the same drawing.

Finalmente con un lápiz de trazo intermedio comencé a realizar tramas en el fondo hasta rellenarlo completamente, para luego aplicar una fina capa de barniz protector sobre el dibujo.

Finally, with a pencil of intermediate stroke, I began to make patterns in the background until it was completely filled, and then I applied a thin layer of protective varnish over the drawing.
