Hivechess Tournament Round 4: @jaki01 wins again!

Dear Chessfriends,

in round 4 we were 10 players and we could for the first time since season 1 welcome @iobates. Since also @zacherybinx (sirtetris) joined it was quite a competitive field. But apparently without @eniolw there was no one today who could challenge @jaki01. Only @zacherybinx could draw against him, all his other matches @jaki01 won. Surprisingly I could beat him, but that was only after the clock ended the tournament. Bad luck (not the only one for me today). So congratulations again!
Second was @yazp (zulukill) who played rock solid again. Third rank went to @iobates (same place as last time), followed by @zacherybinx (sirtetris). The next places were taken by @evgsk (evgchess) with one of his best results (5th) and @pereu4ivatel (drakOnb) (6th). I got only a disappointing 7th rank and 8th was @rafaelaquino (ajedrezclub2t).

from m8loss I don´t have a Hive name and thus he is not counted

The rules you can look up in the announcement post.

Today, since I played so terrible, @jaki01 could increase the gap to the remaining field from 3 to 9 points! @yazp (zulukill) could grab the second spot from me with the same number of points but a better average tournament performance! @eniolw is still fourth despite not participating today, but with a gap of 8 points to the top 3. @iobates could propel himself to the seventh rank and also @zacherybinx (sirtetris) could make a nice jump in the ranking.

See you next week and keep practicing!

Surprisingly I could beat him, but that was only after the clock ended the tournament.

It seems we all have our typical characteristics. For example you often start slow and finish very well. Mine is to play unbelievable bad recently when under time pressure. That forces me to try getting an advantage early enough in the game to avoid these hectic blitz battles with only a few seconds left for both players.
The game you mentioned, but also our draw and my loss against @eniolw in a very good position in the last tournament are typical examples. It looks like I am getting old and slowww! :)

"old and slowww"

But still good enough to be head and shoulders above the others :)
