Scissors Seven: The Anime Review

I stumbled on this amazing Anime gem recently during the lockdown,a time in my life when I really needed a pick me up and Scissors seven was just the right fix for me. It would be a crime for me not to give a review on this absolute piece of art.

Scissors seven (a.k.a killer 7) is a Chinese animation,that was first aired on the 25th of april 2018 and currently spans over 2 seasons containing a total of 24 episodes combined.
The story is centered around the main character named seven, An average looking young man, who at the initial stage of the story was just a roadside food vendor until he and his friend/mentor dai bo thought it was a brilliant idea for seven to quit and become a professional assassin since the profession rills in alot of cash. At first seven wasn't really enthusiastic about the idea but Dai bo managed to convince him with the lure of using the money made to solicit help from a faction called Stan, to use their technology to help restore sevens memory. Seven suffers from amnesia and can't remember anything from his past so this was more than enough to convince him into becoming a hitman. So that's how on a whim seven became a freelance killer and dai bao who by the way is a talking blue chicken, became his manager. One might wonder how a roadside food vendor becomes a professional killer over night, well seven has a couple of weapons in his arsenal, one being his strange telekinetic connection and control over a Scissors specially made for him by Dai bo. Another important tool seven utilizes alot is the gaiba egg, when smashed, the egg allows seven take on the form of anything he imagines but all this tools were not enough to prepare seven for series of unfortunate events he bungled himself into. Due to seven's unethical nature and lack of resolve as a killer, he somehow makes a mess of almost every single assignment and gets into more trouble than he bargain for. some times he even gets into life threatening situations but it is at these moments when seven's back his pushed against a wall and his life is hanging by a thread that something dark inside of him awakens and saves the day. A darkness linked to his past and as our hero's journey continues he becomes a target between two waring factions because of the man he used to be.
Scissors seven (a.k.a killer 7) is a blend of action, adventure and comedy.
So if you are looking to kill some time with a fun and interesting Anime, then I recommend you try out Scissors 7 you won't regret it.
