A mindful look at Sword Art Online

Trapped in a virtual reality gaming world, Kirito's burden is the same as others who are ambitious enough to carve their own path through life. He and his guild need to beat the game within a few months, or everyone will die.

Even though he focuses on grinding so he is never in risk of dying while fighting the next big boss, taking breaks happen often. This is wise, because burning out would lead to becoming less productive. He is not at all a traditionally overpowered isekai character at any point while stuck in Aincrad.

Caring for his friends and other troubles that would take his concentration away if left ignored is a big part of the show, but since he is a very morally correct person, this is not something he can avoid doing all the time. The anime makes him look like he's never grinding due to so much drama, but there's a reason he's among the highest leveled players.

At some point in the show, Asuna and Kirito get together while they take care of Yui. It makes no sense when we look at the big picture. But being a teenager in love who might get killed in any of their next battles would certainly make us tenderly impulsive. The only completely wrong part is when he decides to not do it with Asuna, having gone so far off the main plot already.

Nobody would have thought less of him. Asuna clearly wanted it. They've both been purely motivated by hormones for a few episodes in already. It would occur naturally and in a loving but horny way. Honestly, it was a disrespect to the fanbase and even to Kirito himself as a character. Unless he's asexual. Which makes sense considering his coldish relationship his girlfriend and just about everyone else.

So there you have it, guys. He never cheats on Asuna and never even slightly resembles getting aroused at any point in all of the anime's seasons. A main character from an isekai/harem show, asexual. It is such a bad commercial decision, most of us feel incredibly frustrated for never even considering it. But assuming this is correct, the last piece of the puzzle to understand Kirito's mind fits in perfectly.
