(ESP-ENG) Dragon Ball vuelve a las pantallas en el 2022 // Dragon Ball returns to screens in 2022.
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
It is a fact that despite the fact that Dragon Ball has been released more than 30 years ago, it continues to give us something to talk about, but above all, it continues to provide material for more and more sagas. All of us who grew up watching Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and later Dragon Ball GT have a certain affection for this anime that undoubtedly marked an important part of our childhood and adolescence. In fact, at 35 years old, I still consider myself a big fan of this story and all these mythical characters.
To put into context what is coming next year, it is good to make a brief review of all the sagas that have been part of this universe created by the legendary Akira Toriyama.
- Dragon Ball (1986-1989)
The first saga of this story is more than 30 years ago and is specifically based on the time when Goku was just a child and how he began his training at the Kame House with Master Roshi. As the story progressed, he began to meet Krilin, Ten, etc. This part has 153 chapters.
- Dragon Ball Z (1989-1996)
This stage was perhaps the most popular of all and the one most people watched around the world. In principle, the first chapter of this part was released as a continuation of the end of the previous one and not as the beginning of something new, besides this happened only a week after the end of the first part. The thing is that Dragon Ball Z had a tremendous popularity because it showed us the life of Vegeta and Goku on earth and it had the 3 biggest villains: Freezer, Cell and MajinBoo. 291 episodes had this story.
- Dragon Ball GT (1996-1997)
GT is the first part without its creator Toriyama who leaves the anime after Majin Boo but still the studio Toei Animation thought there was more story and it was in it where we saw Goku as a child again and phase 4 of the Super Sayayin. It had only 64 episodes and is not part of the main series. I think it was one of the ones that hooked people the least.
- Dragon Ball KAI (2009-2011)
That came out with the intention of celebrating the 20th anniversary of Dragon Ball Z, so TOEI Animation wanted to release a renewed version with some of the most remembered and famous episodes, some filler and some sequences have been remastered to make them look more like the original manga. The original 291 episodes were reduced to 167.
- Dragon Ball KAI: The Final Chapters (2014-2015)
These final chapters, as the name says, were the conclusion to all the renovation that was done with Dragon Ball KAI but the truth is that it was a very considerable decrease in quality compared to what the series had us used to. This part covers the Buu saga and there are only 61 chapters.
- Dragon Ball Super (2015-2018)
This would become the real successor of Dragon Ball Z. Although its beginnings were quite bad and highly criticized by all the fans, at the end of the day it achieved its goal, vindicating itself with a very good rating. It deals with a new story with Black Goku and goes on until the tournament of Power where everything is done and squared for what is to come, the Broly movie. We are talking about 131 chapters.
- Super Dragon Ball Heroes (2018-actualidad)
This is the most recent and only has 6 chapters where it is a kind of promotion for the Dragon Ball videogame in Japan. Here the series goes down a path where they try to do whatever they want, showing new evolutions and fusions between the most popular characters.
Having said all of the above and refreshing our memory a bit, we can finally say what is coming: a new movie. The exciting thing is that it will feature its original creator Akira Toriyama who in an interview said that it will be an incredible journey full of high caliber fights along with the appearance of one or another surprise character.
Actually there are not many clues about the plot and everything related to it, what is known is that PAM, Gohan's daughter, Piccolo without major changes and a Krilin with a police outfit make an appearance. But the most striking thing is the existence of two enigmatic characters with a rather somber countenance accompanied by the numbers 1 and 2.
At the moment this is all we know since this was announced at the famous San Diego Comic Con, so we will have to wait until 2022 is getting closer to know exactly the final date of the premiere. Patience and stay tuned.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos leemos en la próxima!
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it and wait for this new chapter of this incredible and nostalgic story.
¡Hugs to everyone, see you next time!
