[REVIEW] YURU CAMP: the beauty of simplicity. 🏕️

We returned to that faraway 2018, I was emotionally distraught and had found refuge in seeing anime, but I did not see anything, I saw the genre moe in particular, I do not know why but I was quite encouraged. That's how I ended up seeing things like girls traveling to Antarctica, girls working in a video game company and girls camping. Today I come to talk about the latter, since in Japan it became a trend to camp near Mount Fuji thanks to this work, technically becoming a national phenomenon. Let's proceed to talk about Yuru Camp or Laid-Back Camp.

Regresamos a aquel lejano 2018, yo emocionalmente me encontraba pésimo y había encontrado refugio en ver anime, pero no veía cualquier cosa, veía el género moe en concreto, no sé por qué pero me animaba bastante. Así fue como terminé viendo cosas como niñas viajando a la Antártida, niñas que trabajaban en una empresa de videojuegos y niñas que acampaban. Hoy les vengo a hablar de este último, siendo que en Japón se volvió tendencia las acampadas cerca del monte Fuji gracias a esta obra, técnicamente volviéndose un fenómeno a nivel nacional. Procedamos a hablar entonces de Yuru Camp o Laid-Back Camp.

First of all there is one thing to keep in mind, this work is suitable for all audiences and is quite simple, you are not going to find a complex plot that leaves you with an existential void if you see it. The plot is so simple that it can be summarized in this way: Rin Shima, is a lonely girl who loves to camp alone, a habit inherited from her grandfather. On her way to a campsite she meets an energetic girl named Nadeshiko Kagamihara, who, finding herself lost because she is new to the place, Rin decides to let him camp with her. The series is about Nadeshiko learning how interesting camping is, and about Rin learning that maybe it's not so bad to camp in company.

Antes que nada hay que tener en cuenta una cosa, esta obra es apta para todo el público y es bastante simple, no vas a encontrar una trama compleja que te deje con un vacío existencial si la ves. La trama es tan simple que se puede resumir de esta forma: Rin Shima, es una chica solitaria que le encanta acampar sola, un hábito heredado de su abuelo. En camino a una acampada se encontrará con una chica energética llamada Nadeshiko Kagamihara, quién al encontrarse pérdida porque es nueva en ese lugar, Rin decide dejar que acampe con ella. La serie va de Nadeshiko aprendiendo lo interesante que es acampar y de Rin aprendiendo que quizás no es tan malo acampar en compañía.

The opening of this series is Asaka's Shiny Days, a pretty happy theme that reflects what we'll see on screen, some pretty happy girls doing fun things while experiencing camping. At the end we find something very calm, Fuyu Biyori by Eri Sasaki, which consists of a harmonious melody played with guitar accompanied by vowels. The whole soundtrack goes perfectly with the anime, the songs are according to what it would be like to be in the field, causing the viewer to feel relaxed.

El opening de esta serie es Shiny Days de Asaka, un tema bastante alegra que refleja lo que veremos en pantalla, unas chicas bastantes alegres haciendo cosas divertidas mientras experimentan la experiencia de ir de acampada. De ending nos encontramos algo muy calmado, Fuyu Biyori de Eri Sasaki, que consta de un armoniosa melodía tocada con guitarra acompañada de vocales. Toda la banda sonora va de la mano perfectamente con el anime, las canciones van acorde a lo que sería estar en el campo, provocando que el espectador pudiera llegarse a sentir relajado.

And that's one of the best things Yuru Camp does, it gets you into a relaxed state, all your stress is gone and you can concentrate on what's happening on screen. The adventures of those girls, with those beautiful landscapes makes you end up forgetting the problems of everyday life. It is ideal to take a coffee while you see it or perhaps see it while you eat. Doing something so simple means that you don't have to focus so much attention on crude details because the plot is digestible for everyone, making you focus on the simplicity of things, like camping or having a good time with your friends.

Y eso es una de las mejores cosas que consigue hacer Yuru Camp, hacer que tú entres en un estado de relajación, que todo tu estrés se te vaya y te concentres en lo que está ocurriendo en pantalla. Las aventuras de aquellas chicas, con aquellos hermosos paisajes hace que termines olvidando los problemas del día a día. Es ideal para tomarte un café mientras lo ves o quizás verlo mientras comes. Hacer algo tan simple provoca que no tengas que centrar tanta atención en detalles burdos porque la trama es digerible para todo el mundo, haciendo que te centres en la simpleza de las cosas, como acampar o pasarla bien con tus amigos.

The cast of protagonists, the soul of the story that will relax us and make us have a good time also resorts to this technique of simplicity. There is no subplot, no background. Rin only wants to enjoy camping, Nadeshiko wants to continue learning about camping accompanying Rin, Aoi and Chiaki who are members of the Outdoor Club will want to accompany them as well. That's the cast, no more. They will do fun and educational things, during the whole adventure we will be shown camping tips, tips mostly for beginners, this being told by a storyteller, how to set up a tent, what and how to cook, how to build a fire, will be some of the topics to be taught.

El elenco de protagonistas, el alma de la historia que nos relajará y nos hará pasar un buen rato también recurre a esta técnica de simpleza. No hay subtrama, no hay un trasfondo. Rin solo quiere disfrutar de acampar, Nadeshiko quiere seguir aprendiendo sobre acampar acompañando a Rin, Aoi y Chiaki quiénes son miembros del Club de Actividades al Aire Libre querrán acompañarlas también. Ese es el elenco, sin más. Harán cosas divertidas y educativas, durante toda la aventura se nos mostrarán consejos de acampada, consejos más que nada para los novatos, ésto siendo contado por un narrador, cómo armar una carpa, qué y cómo cocinar, cómo prender una fogata, serán algunos de los temas a enseñar.

The anime consists of 12 chapters and as such they do not follow a sequence, you might see them skipped. But it is recommended to see them obviously in order. The studio in charge of the animation is C-Station, a studio that is still considered new today, being this one of its first titles; in the past they only collaborated with other studios. The audiovisual section is magnificently worked, the little it has does it quite well. One thing to emphasize would be the recreation of the real places, possessing too many details. The character design is typical of the moe genre, but the expressions they manage to convey make them feel realistic.

El anime consta de 12 capítulos y como tal no siguen una secuencia, podrías verlos salteados. Pero se recomienda verlos obviamente en orden. El estudio encargado de la animación es C-Station, estudio que al día de hoy sigue considerándose como nuevo, siendo éste uno de sus primeros títulos; en el pasado solo colaboraban con otros estudios. El apartado audiovisual está magníficamente trabajado, lo poco que tiene lo hace bastante bien. Una cosa a destacar sería la recreación de los lugares reales, poseyendo demasiados detalles. El diseño de personajes es típico del género moe, pero las expresiones que logran transmitir hace que se sientan realistas.

Yuru Camp is undoubtedly one of the best anime I have seen, ignoring the fact that even after 2 years I have not seen the last chapter and now is on air a second season. The beauty of this work lies in its simplicity, it is not for everyone due to its relaxed theme, those who want action or reflection are looking where it is not. Do you want to rest and feel relaxed? Don't wait any longer and see Yuru Camp.

Yuru Camp es sin lugar a dudas, uno de los mejores animes que he visto, obviando el hecho que aún después de 2 años aún no me he visto el último capítulo y ahora está en emisión una segunda temporada. La belleza de esta obra radica en su simplicidad, no es para todo el mundo debido a su temática relajada, aquellos que quieran acción o reflexión están buscando donde no es. ¿Quieres descansar y sentirte relajado?
