Every day a work and every work a learning

Each artwork represents an apprenticeship for me. They all teach me something. There is a reason they say that the more you practice, the better you will be at what you do.

During the month of October, @pixeos 's rare art gallery launched a challenge called #pixeosinktober2020 which consisted of making a digital artwork, according to a daily theme.

This artwork was my participation for day 2 of the challenge, whose theme was: "Alien House".

I hadn't done any artwork with an alien theme before, so it was fun to try. In fact, one of the things I liked about this challenge was that they proposed themes that forced me to experiment with different topics than the ones I usually tackle through my artworks.

When you dare to experience new things through your art or in your area of expertise, you discover new perspectives, your creativity expands and your skills develop.

I really enjoyed participating in this challenge. Even though I didn't participate for the 30 consecutive days, I did perform a number of plays, which showed me that I can take my skills much further.

Making the eyes of this alien girl seemed so complicated to me!

However, when I made them it was easier than I expected, the secret was to place the lights correctly, to give her that rounded volume and sparkle in her eyes.

The expression on her eyebrows is something like a "WTF man?", which I confess I have to work on more and accompany it with a more appropriate lip gesture.

The features of his face

If you look closely at the animation, you can see that this alien girl initially had a face with relatively normal features; however, guided by photographs of aliens, I noticed that they had certain bumps on their face that were very marked. So I decided to be faithful to this alien image and make it less "normal" :D

Every head is a world!

For her hair I was inspired by the hairstyle of Princess Leia from "Star Wars" and as you can see, the city inhabits in her head; there are other beings like her, with cities and worlds in their heads too; becoming what we would call in computer science "a recursive function" :D because she is an alien girl with a city in her head, where other aliens with worlds in their heads inhabit and so she repeats herself infinitely. Making, at the same time, a perfect allusion to the saying: "Every head is a world" :D

In this city the dawn is announced by its three solar stars that orbit around it. And as you can see, it is surrounded by tentacles that are not a threat at all: It is an alien city!

The dawn of new ideas :)

"Sunrise in alien city" as that's how I titled this artwork, has become a sketch for another artwork that I hope to make very soon. See what I mean about trying new things? If it weren't for this challenge, I might not have dared to experiment with this kind of themes, much less continue exploring them. I discovered that any theme can become a artwork with a good story behind it.

Cada día una obra y cada obra un aprendizaje

Cada obra representa un aprendizaje para mí. Todas me enseñan algo. Por algo dicen que mientras más practiques, mejor serás en lo que haces.

Durante el mes de octubre, la galería de arte raro de @pixeos lanzó un reto denominado #pixeosinktober2020 que consistió en realizar una obra de arte digital, de acuerdo a una tema diario.
Esta obra fue mi participación para el día 2 del reto, cuyo tema fue: "Alien House".

No había realizado antes obras con temática alienígena, así que fue divertido intentarlo. De hecho, una de las cosas que me gustó de este reto, fue que propusieron temas que me obligaban a experimentar con temas diferentes a los que acostumbro abordar a través de mis obras.

Cuando te atreves a experimentar cosas nuevas a través de tu arte o en tu área de saber, descubres nuevas perspectivas, tu creatividad se expande y tus habilidades se desarrollan.

Disfruté mucho participar en este reto. Aunque no participé los 30 días consecutivos, si realicé una cantidad de obras, que me demostraron que puedo llevar mis habilidades mucho más allá.

¡Realizar los ojos de esta chica alien me parecía tan complicado!

Sin embargo, cuando los realicé fue más sencillo de lo que esperaba, el secreto estuvo en colocar las luces correctamente, para darle ese volumen redondeado y brillo en sus ojos.

La expresión de sus cejas es algo así como un “WTF man??”, que confieso debo trabajar más y acompañarlo con un gesto en los labios más acorde.

Las facciones de su rostro

Si te fijas bien en la animación, podrás ver que esta chica alienígena tenía inicialmente un rostro con facciones relativamente normales; sin embargo, guiada por fotografías de extraterrestres, noté que estos tenían ciertas protuberancias en el rostro muy marcadas. Así que decidí ser fiel a esta imagen extraterreste y hacerla menos “normal” :D

¡Cada cabeza es un mundo!

Para sus cabellos me inspiré en el peinado de la Princesa Leia de “Star Wars” y como puedes ver, la ciudad habita en su cabeza; ahí dentro hay otros seres como ella, con ciudades y mundos en sus cabezas también; convirtiéndose en lo que llamaríamos en informática “una función recursiva” :D pues es una chica alien con una ciudad en su cabeza, en donde habitan otros aliens con mundos en sus cabezas y así se repite infinitamente. Haciendo, a su vez, una perfecta alusión al dicho: “Cada cabeza es un mundo” :D

En esta ciudad el amanecer lo anuncian sus tres estrellas solares que orbitan a su alrededor. Y como puedes observar, está rodeada de tentáculos que para nada son una amenaza, después de todo: ¡Es una ciudad alien!

El amanecer de nuevas ideas :)

"Amanecer en la ciudad alien" pues así titulé esta obra, se ha convertido en un boceto para otra obra que espero realizar muy pronto. ¿Ves lo que te digo de probar cosas nuevas? De no ser por este reto, quizás no me hubiese atrevido a experimentar con este tipo de temas y mucho menos continuar explorándolos. Descubrí que cualquier tema se puede convertir en una obra con una buena historia detrás.
