Ratmaster Fral In His Study
(Edited)
Another digital painting of Ratmaster Fral, who seems to stick with me somehow. The first work (see it here) was made more or less randomly as I, inspired by Frank Franzetta, wanted to use the old baroque technique painting on top of a imprimitura, a rough layer in middle colours with a lot of texture. Traditionally just the visible brushstrokes, but for this one I have just mixed some of my own krita-brush wildness with some textures found on the internet.
So there is a story in there somehow, and I might just write it some day. Right now I just make illustrations for this imaginary book.

Love the lightning!
It is actually really funny to make this kind of image and in many ways it is easier than black and white drawings. Cross-hatching is a difficult thing.

Thanks, mate!
