Thread Painting on Black Paper

Hello friends.

Today I wanted to take a trip into the past. In my school years, I loved painting class. Besides normal drawings, we used to do thread print and potato painting.

We used to print the thread on white paper. Now I tried to do this on black paper. With thread painting, very interesting and mysterious shapes emerge.

I likened the shape that emerged today to a creature. When I turned it upside down, a faceless person with special powers extended his hands. It looks like he's shooting rays out of his hands.

The materials I used for thread printing:
1 - A glass of water
2 - Watercolor
3 - Thread
4 - Paper

Never heard the term thread painting, this turned out fascinating in design.

I do remember potato painting as a child that too gave some features that are quite creative.

Actually, I don't know the exact meaning of this in English. It is called 'ip baskısı' in Turkish. I came across this term when I searched on Youtube. :)

Thank you very much for your interest and support.

ip baskısı

No matter how it is correctly referred to (direct translation is correct), this gives a nice finishing touch, using black paper, the colours "pop".
