Hey there, guys!

Він був дійсно незабутнім!I really want to share my recent experience of a day hike in the mountains with my family. It was truly unforgettable!
Photo that I used here were taken with my mobile but I hope you will like them.

Not for the first time, having a whole week to pick up any day, I chose the worst weather. The weather was sunny and hot for a whole week, and on this day forecast promised clouds + sun, and temperature decrease. Everyone agreed with me that it is better to go when it is cooler.
Unfortunately, we had to go without a guide and without a map, because the guide could not come (the navigator also had to give it), but he assured us that the route is well marked. Given all this and the fact that the whole route takes an average of 8 hours, we woke up before 7 am. We had breakfast, equipped and cheerfully went out on an empty village street.
At the beginning, it turned out that the mountains were completely covered with clouds. But we hoped that they would dissipate soon.

We started with the fact that we could not find the first marking on the route. Woke up the guide. Went back, found a mark, went on. We reached the second marking, and immediately after it the road splitted into two. And the sign was quite ... ambiguous. Two of us said we had to go up, two said we had to go down. Went up (for we go to mountains). We climbed quite high until we saw that it was a dead end. And had to turn all the way down. About an hour wasted wandering and searching.

We had to disturb the guide a couple more times, while we ascended a little higher, closer to the clouds, which, apparently, did not intend to disperse anywhere, unlike our optimism. The air became more saturated with moisture. Marking was not always easy to find.
I regretted that we did not go on a nice sunny day like yesterday, and my daughter tried to carefully suggest not to go to the top, so as not to get lost. But we decided not to give up and not to compromise.

So we walked, looking at the trail, surrounded by clouds, firs and rocks. Visibility was about 40 meters, humidity 100%. Somewhere there, in a dry warm bedroom, our guide was probably watching his last dream. Somewhere there, behind the fog and clouds, against the background of incredibly beautiful landscapes (we were told...), cows were grazing and horses were walking. Sometimes bells could be heard, then closer, then far, and silhouettes of animals appeared through the fog. The picture reminded of the beginning of a horror movie, when "you never expected anything to be wrong ..."

The higher, the wetter it became. The fog was already falling more on the rain. We put on jackets and hoods back, as we first took off. My feet were soaking wet. Hypothetical meadows were replaced by forest.
Можна сісти на холодну морку лавку і попити гарячого чаю, на який раптом виявилось більше претендентів, ніж планувалось ))Suddently, a small gazebo for rest emerged from the fog. Hooray! This meant that halfway is done. We can sit on a cold and wet bench and drink hot tea, which suddenly turned out to be more applicants than planned :D

After the first normal rest we go on cheerfully, wet, but unconquered)) Even contradictory pointers no longer confuse.

Зате якою смачною!!!By the way, we came across bizarre and inedible mushrooms along the trail all the way. They are very photogenic. None of us is a fan or a master of mushroom picking, but when we suddenly came across a colony of Fungus "Chanterelle", a real colony, everyone suddenly felt excited. Only my daughter persuaded us to go further, and then gave up and joined just to "finish" faster. But only the volume of the package stopped us. By the way, it turned out later, that our discovery was very, very appropriate, because there was a misunderstanding with dinner, and my mushroom sauce was our main dish. But how delicious!!!

The forest in general was incredibly beautiful. At the bottom, everything was covered with a bright green, thick, soft and wet carpet of moss and fallen leaves. Sometimes it was necessary to change direction through fallen trees.
The trees lay upside down. They were knocked down by a recent storm. We even saw a spruce tree that was struck by lightning! Its trunk was split from the very top down, there were fresh fragments around at a great distance, and parts of the trunk were burnt. Trembitas (traditional Ukrainian folk music instrument) are made of such spruce. I bet you didn't know :D
Finally, a sign that finally shows how much is left. And there are only 400m left!

20200805_124538.jpg

The top was not very picturesque, or rather, as it was not. The guide's call didn't help much, because he said that we wouldn't find a specific peak in the forest. But it did not upset us. We found a decent lawn with a table and seating in a circle. Finally, you could throw off and unscrew wet clothes. Even the fog finally began to rise.
So when we walked half way back and out to the gazebo to relax, we finally saw what a beautiful ridge we were walking.
20200805_152635.jpg20200805_154132.jpg
As we went down, the sun came out of the clouds and shone, as if trying to say sorry for the inconvenience and finally dry our wet clothes. The road was the same, but completely unfamiliar. It was amazing and fun. Going down is generally a lot more fun.

This is basically the all story. Hopefully, you aren't too tired, are you? And I hope you'll drop by somehow again :) Thank you so much for your time!
