Soulmates
Ding!š A notification pops up on Amaās phone. She takes a look and realizes itās a notification from YourSoulMateIsHere.com. She unlocks the phone with her thumb and opens the notification to read the message on the app. Itās from Fine_Gentleman82. Ama has been chatting with him close to a month now but theyāve never met. His message read, āHi dear, was wondering if itās possible to finally get to meet the person Iāve been chatting with for close to a month. I hope this is not too straightforward and if you think itās too soon, I would understandā.

Ama calls Adjo her best friend and asks her what she thinks. Adjo tells her to reply and meet him and if sheās not sure about her safety, she can chaperone her. Ama considers meeting Kofi. Kofi is funny, smart and just a couple of months older than her. They share a lot of interests. She decides to respond to his message. āThanks for your message. I would also love to meet. We could meet at the Gate B of the Accra Sports Stadium. My friend Adjo has 2 tickets to Fridays clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko and since we both enjoy football, it will be a good place to meet. Funny enough I was wondering about inviting you myself before your messageā.
Two minutes after sending the message, she received a response in the affirmative. She was nervous about how it will go because they both didnāt use their own pictures on their profiles. The mystery about his identity even made the whole experience much more interesting. She couldnāt wait to finally meet Fine_Gentleman82 who had so far checked all her boxes. She was sure he was the one. She just remembered sheās not even asked his name. He hadnāt asked her either and it had seemed theyāve always known each other. She sent him a message, āquick question, just realized I havenāt asked your name. Iām Ama, what about you?ā āKofiā with a smiling emoji āšā was the response she received.
Friday was here. She told Adjo to call her every 30 minutes incase she needed an excuse to leave. She dressed up in her favorite shirt and grey jeans trousers and curled up her hair. Sheās excited to finally meet the man who will probably be her soulmate but was nervous about how it will go. She got to the stadium and saw by the ticket booth. She couldnāt see his face as he had his head in the booth. She just knew he was the one. She got closer and said, āExcuse me sir, are you Kofiā? He turned and their eyes locked. āAmaā? Kofi asks. āKofi Frimpongā, Ama exclaims. They both laugh and hugged each other. Kofi and Ama dated in high school until Kofiās father died and he had to move to stay with his grandma.
They were truly meant for each other and found each other after all these years.
