Shave | A Five Minute Freewrite

"Go shave!" my mother yelled.

It had to be the hundredth time she had said that today. It started with whispers but now grew into louder yells with each passing minute.

I had been away in school for almost a year and had grown a big beard and moustache. My mother always hated them.

I lazily got up and headed out to go get a shave when I bumped into Peter.
Peter was my closest friend and we had just got back from school together. He sure looked very different for someone who I had just seen the previous day.

"What happened?" I asked.

"What do you mean what happened?" He replied.

"Your face, it looks different. What's missing?" I said with a stern curious look on my face.

"My beard is gone of course, as usual. How didn't you notice that since?" Peter said with an almost angry look.

"Well, welcome home I guess." I said jokingly with a wicked smirk.

That's the one thing Peter and I have in common. Each time we come visiting home we lose our beards to mother's yells.

"I'm heading out to shave" I said as I giggled funnily.

He knew I had succumbed to my mum's yells as well. We both laughed as we strolled off to the salon swearing to never accept defeat from our mothers again.
