Trash / Trash The Stress šŸš®

I think I was in stress of late!

For the past few weeks, I had been experiencing shortness of breath and chest tight, which the body reacted in cough to get oxygen. As I prayed, the Lord showed me on mindful breathing. I paused from my chores and took some real deep breath. Suddenly, I was well.

This led me to realise my shortness of breath and chest tight must be that stress I placed upon myself. I am a high achiever, given responsibility, I would like to do it well and on time. So, I had piles of work as homemaker, wife, and mother. Now, also a teacher because I teach my two boys at home.

I gave myself a break...

To revamp my entire system. I took a day off from Hive as well that day, because I wanted to reflect on my plates of responsibilities and how should I navigate, regulate and how to 'spin the plate', so to speak. I noticed the plate overflowed. That's why I always felt rushing this and that, overwhelmed. Frustrated and upset when things were done at the end of the day.

I had been reading more devotionals and motivational articles on stress-free living...

What I learn was...

I needed to trash the stress

  1. Setting priorities
  2. Letting go some tasks to another time
  3. One thing at a time, remember to breathe deep
  4. Letting go burden to God, daily.
  5. Not worrying about tomorrow
  6. That I can't cook all three meals, clean the whole house and teach the boys well ALL on same day.
  7. Space out occasionally and teach the boys about power time (each do own thing for 10 - 30 minutes)
  8. If it's not emergency life or death, then it is okay. Take a day off to go slow.
  9. You can't help everyone
  10. It is okay to say "No". It is okay to tell the boys mummy needs some quiet time.

All the above aren't a list that will happen in 24-hour, but it takes practice, mindfulness and awareness of self and surrounding. It is a life skill to manage.

Guys, stress really does take a toll on our bodies. More people are in stress now, especially now when the whole world is affected by global pandemic, then other issues which follow on. Please do take care of our emotion and mental health. My prayers of wellness in being for you as you read this. Hope the list I have made for myself helps you as well.
