TITOLO POST STEEMIT FICO.jpg

We had just walked through the woods, and before us was a scenery that left us speechless.

ITA

They were the Pale di San Martino, the largest mountain group in the Dolomites!

ITA

The highest peak is 3192 meters above sea level!

ITA

P1490790.jpg

On our left was the Venegia hut, I was curious to go and see it, but I wanted to walk and continue to contemplate that magnificent valley!

ITA

The path is really easy, almost all flat and the extended lawn is great for grazing animals.

ITA

P1490800.jpg

Every step in the direction of the mountains I was more and more delighted, what could be more beautiful!

ITA

To further embellish the Venegia valley there are cows resting or eating in the sun.

ITA

There was also a calf, which evidently had recently been born because it was difficult to walk.

ITA

P1490816.jpg

P1490817.jpg

To our right, accompanying us along the valley was the Travignolo stream, which deserves a post!

ITA

Despite the beating sun it was fine because in the valley there was a constant fresh wind that made everything more pleasant.

ITA

P1500006.jpg

P1500007.jpg

On the sides of the stream many families stopped to rest or to have packed lunches.

A good idea, I often do it too, you can save a lot of time instead of eating in a hut or restaurant.

ITA

As I walked I thought, how beautiful this valley must be in winter, a real dream!

Who knows, if I buy an off-road vehicle, I might go back in the winter!

ITA

Then at a certain point, here is the Venegiota hut!

ITA

P1500036.jpg

What a fantastic position that hut has, with the background of the mountains and an immense pasture around!

ITA

P1500046.jpg

P1500047.jpg

Made with exposed stone, the wooden shingle roof and the smoking fireplace, it is quite a sight!

ITA

P1500051.jpg

As I approached I tried to photograph the peaks with a focal length of 90 mm, really fascinating!

ITA

P1500052.jpg

Nice to see the snow-capped peaks!

ITA

Bello vedere le cime innevate!

P1500053.jpg

The hut was full so we had to wait about 15 minutes but it was worth it!

ITA

Luckily we found a place inside.
Outside the sun was beating down hard and we risked frying our brains! 😅

ITA

Per fortuna abbiamo trovato posto all'interno.

I'm not used to taking pictures of food and in fact this time too I forgot, but at least I photographed the first courses and the dessert!

ITA

P1500063.jpg

An appetizer of mixed cold cuts and cheeses.

First courses with buttered canerderli: a typical Trentino dish and Tyrolean gnocchi with cheeses and speck.

The second goulash with polenta and sausages with polenta.

ITA

P1500064.jpg

P1500065.jpg

Only I had the dessert: a panna cotta with berries.

ITA

P1500066.jpg

I would say it wasn't a very light lunch but I'm curious and I like to taste everything!

ITA

P1500069.jpg

When we went out I was full of energy and we chose to do the reverse route along the Travignolo stream.

It was a great idea!

ITA
