Khao Kho Mountains Thailand.

Earlier last week a friend of my invited me to his Tobacco farm which is about 400 km out of Bangkok to a province called Phetchabun we hired a small Mazda car and decided to drive so we could also enjoy a bit more of Thailand's country side. Phetchabun is not only know for it's Tobacco farms but is also known for it's beautiful lush green mountains they call it the Summit of Phetchabun only minus the snow.

Khao Kho National Park is about a 6 hour drive from Bangkok city it is very popular holiday destination among local and foreigner tourists especially at this time of the year from September to December with the cooler weather you will find in the early morning the mist and clouds are covering the valleys and the around the mountain tops really spectacular scenes.

As we were arriving to our little resort that we had booked on top of the mountains we could already see the afternoon mist and fog forming around the surrounding mountains we were now and a pretty high elevation they say the highest point at Khao Kho area is 1,143 meters above sea level we were not far from that the views were stunning ever though the clouds were around us.

You can choose to stay in the bungalows but if you wish to camp out there are also a couple of camping grounds for people who wish to set up a tent. I wouldn't have minded the camping out but we had the mother-in-law with us it would have been a bit convenient.

Once we checked into our bungalows we walked over to the hilltop restaurant where they had a nice warm afternoon cappuccino waiting for me and some corns on the barbecue i love barbecue corns so does my friends mother-in-law they met us at the Khao Kho Bungalows as they live in Phetchabun and were not far from where we had booked the bungalows.

Phetchabun province also has the largest wind farm wind turbines in Thailand having 24 turbines each turbine stands at 110 meters tall, generating total of 60 MW power each.

After a nice warm cappuccino and a couple of barbecue corns we took a walk around the flower gardens i was absolutely amazed to see so many beautiful winter season flowers around the gardens well winter here in Thailand is not like the western countries it is still rather warm well for me anyway even though it looks really cold and you can see how the Thai people rug themselves up i would be sweating under them cloths 😅

I could not believe how many types of beautiful flowers were growing around these mountains and all so vibrant , colorful and healthy looking , it tells you how clean the air is up here high on the mountains. I just had to keep clicking away on these flowers some of these i have never seen myself little own know there names.

As the dawn was setting in we were hoping that the sun might just make a appearance through them clouds so we position ourselves along the mountains edge with our portable barbecue , barbecuing some corn and chicken on the stick and hope for the best as we were just about to give up after waiting there for over a hour the sun decided to peek through the clouds giving us exactly what we were waiting for how spectacular it was just breathtaking to see the textures blending in with the green lush mountains.

Satisfied and content in what we saw we decided to retrieve to our bungalows it had been a long day on the road and we wanted to be up to see that early morning blanket of clouds surrounding the mountain caps. This is what everyone comes to see and after seeing it myself i could understand why people come all this way seeing it made me fell like i was floating in the clouds like i could touch them it was just one amazing experience.

Leaving the mountains after seeing those never seen sceneries even in my life we were heading back down the mountains to my friends Tobacco farm is what they make there living on and do quite well at it they have one one the biggest Tobacco farm in the whole province.

They had just picked all there Tobacco plants and had planted new ones and the picked plants were in the process of drying out to be delivered to the Tobacco factory it was amazing how the weather was different here at ground level it was like coming from winter into summer this is amazing Thailand anything goes 😅
