Apure —Rivers, Plains, and Deserts in a Tropical Savanna— Venezuela Today Awakens (EN/ES)

Venezuela is undergoing a rebirth, in the sense that we are now seeing activities that had been set aside—such as scientific studies of its waters—resume. With this in mind, we spent a few days visiting Apure State, its rivers, and its green spaces.
It is a state that is rarely discussed, despite its significant agricultural and livestock activities. Located in the plains of the country’s southwestern region, it borders Colombia and features vast tracts of dense vegetation, rivers, and even white, sandy deserts…

Still Impoverished
The truth is that there are many areas of the country that have been neglected by government agencies and left behind, and although economic growth is necessary for the entire country, states like Apure and others—which are agricultural producers—have seen their economic activities decline significantly and have been neglected.
This is a reality that can be seen in many other parts of the country; in fact, many Venezuelans suffer from a lack of electrification and power-generating infrastructure, even though we have incredibly large and fast-flowing rivers like the ones we see here.
There is a lack of infrastructure that takes advantage of these water resources.
Furthermore, many of these rivers are polluted due to a lack of environmental awareness and require scientific studies to determine the viability of their ecosystems.
And this is what the University of Zulia and the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) have been working on.

A Blessed Geography
On the other hand, despite the government’s neglect, nature is beautiful throughout the state.
With few elevated areas, it is a virtually flat state, with vast plains and rivers that provide enough water to make the land highly productive.
This hydrography, spanning the entire length and breadth of its territory, includes major rivers that flow through all its lands, such as the Apure, Arauca, Arichuna, Capanaparo, Cinaruco, Cunaviche, and Meta rivers, as well as the Uribante and Satanare rivers in its lower basin alone.
Its climate is warm, with two very distinct seasons that allow visitors to enjoy the landscape year-round.
Nor can we forget that it has tropical rainforest and humid mountain forest zones, due to its proximity to the Venezuelan Andes, as well as significant vegetation that is practically aquatic.

Tourism at a Standstill
Finally, it is important to emphasize that tourism across the country has come to a standstill due to the geopolitical conditions that have prevailed for years; however, populated areas such as San Fernando de Apure, the capital, and cities like Guasdualito offer lodging for enjoyable and beautiful experiences.
And yes, its attractions are rooted in nature—the rivers, the plains, the rural atmosphere, and its underdeveloped, almost rural towns and cities—which allow visitors to enjoy marvelous sunrises and sunsets.
For tourists, being close to rainforests and enjoying the vastness of a large tropical savanna is more than enough to make them want to explore this virtually untouched area we have in Venezuela.

Venezuela Today and Tomorrow…
Venezuela is being reborn, and now is the time for those of us who have emigrated to other countries and those of us who create content on platforms like #Hive in communities as universal as #Worldmappin to showcase unexplored places that will draw people in.

Oh, it's like in our province, a lot have been improved but still need to to improve.
The important thing is to realize that we need to start improving and growing.
Thank you very much for visiting, @femelyn.blog
Blessings.
Without a doubt, Apure has some impressive landscapes; I always enjoyed traveling through those routes towards the states of Bolívar and Amazonas, they are unique.

Apure is a state with beautiful scenery. I visited it on a family trip to the Amazon. I have fond memories of Venezuela, and I miss it. Best regards :)
