A Leisurely Walk Through A Banana Plantation On Tenerife - Travel Blog
When driving on the TF-5 coming from La Laguna - you will notice the more you drive out west the more banana plantations you will see. As we learned at La Casa de Plátano
Banana trees / plants need tons of fresh water to grow . It's hard to imagine that so much water is even available considering that many areas on Tenerife look more like a desert. But here on Tenerife's North Coast - everything is green!
Fun fact - did you know the Canary Wharf in London is named after the ships coming from the Canary Islands? Bringing wine, local goods and of course bananas from one island to the other.

My wish is to live somewhere where bananas grow :) Thanks for sharing
Who doesn't .. but tbh .. I prefer the smaller, sweeter kind - like from Asia :) One day .. .one day! Thank you so much for stopping by!!!
Yup, once you try mall ones you forget about big ones. Interesting, but size isn't everything ;)
hello @for91days ,
in my country Venezuela they plant a lot of bananas and it is true that they need a lot of water, the only problem here in Venezuela are the spiders that live on these plants and they are dangerous.
I'm promoting That curation trail on HIVE and it would help me a lot if you forward it, You can also check it yourself: you might find it interesting to join, I'd love to hear your comments.
