Impressions of La Plantà for September Fallas 2021 - Second Attempt!
Celebrating anything, especially huge street festivals, since the beginning of 2020 due to Covid-19 is 100% out of question. Thanks to vaccinations and the high percentage of Valencians willing to get them - Valencia City decided to move forward to celebrate Fallas 2021, which supposed to happen already in March but got postponed to September.
Many restrictions are applied, no parties or crazy public drinking. But, these figures will still draw crowds. And as the Fallas commissions, we also beg for everyone coming to see Fallas this year to please wear masks when admiring these Fallas Figures or when it gets too crowded.
The reason why the city is pushing forward to have this Fallas is because the Fallas Artists need the room in their workshop. These figures you see in this video have been in storage sind March 2020 and the artists are already working on the figures for Fallas 2022!
In this footage you see the Plantà, that's what they call the transportation of the figure pieces into the plazas and mounting them together, like huge 3D puzzles, into these giant pieces of art, only to get burned on the last day of Fallas.
