Second Try: La Planta of the Meditadora - Escif’s Falla 2020 & 2021
This Fallas Figure, named Meditadora created by Valencia’s street artist Escif has such special meaning for so many who love Fallas and live in Valencia.
In 2020 they cancelled the Fallas Festival because of the Covid-19 outbreak, the next day of the announcement we woke up with this figure wearing a facial mask - ICONIC.
They also cancelled Fallas in March this year but they postponed it until September and they’re now setting up the Fallas Figures yet again and pulled out the meditating woman out of storage to be displayed at the Plaza del Ayutamiento and hopefully she will be finally getting burned. It’s like having these Fallas Ghosts float around and they want to be finally get released by the flames.
In this video you see the entire process, from leaving the workshop, getting loaded up on trucks, transported to the city center and then finally getting placed into the plaza.
