Today I’m sharing photos from a trip I took to the highest point in the city of Caracas, Venezuela: El Ávila Hill.

I recently visited Caracas, and my godson took us to the “Warairarepano” central station, located in the Mariperez neighborhood, where you board the cable cars or funiculars that take you to the summit of Mount Ávila.

The boarding area is quite pleasant, and the cable cars enter and exit the station quickly. Each one can comfortably seat eight people and is suspended from the tension cables that move the cable car along the entire route via a pulley system.

The ride was truly an experience. You feel yourself rising from the ground to the very top of the hill, passing through the thick vegetation visible from above and gazing at the beautiful sunset sky filled with clouds that move alongside you throughout the journey.

From above, you can see the streets and highways where tiny vehicles are driving, and you get an excellent view of a large part of the city. I pulled my phone out from the side of the cabin to take a good photo facing forward in the direction of travel, where you can see the other cable cars coming in the opposite direction.

You can’t take good photos through the cable car’s windows because they’re quite scratched, so you have to be very careful when taking out your phone—it could fall into the void.

The ride to the top of Mount Ávila takes about 15 minutes, and when we get off the cable car, we arrive at an area full of restaurants, shops, and an ice rink. At the very top, you can see the Humboldt Hotel, named in honor of the German scientist Alexander von Humboldt, a pioneer in exploring Mount Ávila.

In this area, you can take excellent photos of the sunset, with truly beautiful landscapes and a very colorful sky that makes you feel like you’re in a magical place.

If you have the chance to visit this place, don’t think twice. It’s a true tourist attraction that will let you experience moments straight out of a dream.

Conociendo un lugar en lo alto del cerro el Ávila en Caracas

Saludos amigos de la comunidad viajera que cada día nos transporta por diferentes lugares el mundo a través de las imágenes.

Hoy les traigo imágenes de un paseo que hice al lugar mas alto de la ciudad de Caracas-Venezuela: El cerro el Avila.

Recientemente estuve de visita en Caracas y mi ahijado nos llevó a la estación central "warairarepano", ubicado en el sector mariperez, donde se hace el abordaje a los teleféricos o funiculares encargados del transporte hacia lo mas alto del Avila.

El sitio de embarque es bastante agradable y los teleféricos entran y salen rápidamente de la estación. Cada uno tiene una capacidad de 8 personas cómodamente sentadas y van sujetos a los cables tensores que son los que trasladan el funicular a través de todo el trayecto movidos por un sistema de poleas.

La verdad que el paseo fue toda una experiencia. Sentir que te vas elevando desde el suelo a los más alto del cerro, atravesando la espesa vegetación que se aprecia desde las alturas y contemplando el hermoso cielo del atardecer con abundante nubosidad que se va moviendo junto a ti a lo largo del trayecto.

Desde arriba se pueden ver las calles y carreteras donde circulan los diminutos vehículos y se tiene un excelente vista de una buena parte de la ciudad. Saqué mi teléfono por un lado de la caja para tomar una buena fotografía de frente en el sentido del trayecto, donde se pueden ver los otros teleféricos que vienen en sentido contrario.

A través de los visores del transporte no se obtienen buenas fotografía porque están bastante rayados y por eso hay que tratar de sacar el teléfono con mucho cuidado, porque se te puede caer al vacío.

El trayecto hasta la parte mas alta del Ávila tarda aproximadamente 15 minutos y cuando nos bajamos del teleférico llegamos a un lugar lleno de restaurantes, tiendas, una pista de hielo y en lo mas alto se puede apreciar el hotel Humboldt, llamado así en honor al alemán Alejandro de Humboldt, un científico y geólogo pionero en recorrer el ávila.

En esta parte se puede tomar excelentes fotografías del atardecer, con paisajes realmente hermosos con un cielo muy colorido que da la sensación de estar en un lugar mágico.

Si tienes la oportunidad de conocer este sitio, no lo pienses mucho. Es una verdadera atracción turística que te hará vivir momentos soñados.
