On my vacation to Guardia Sanframondi in Italy my parents birth town before they migrated to Sydney , Australia i had to visit there birth town which was amazing and after that it didn't end there we shuffled of to see a bit of Rome which was also amazing but then we couldn't leave Italy without seeing Tuscany the land of vineyards and olive groves.

Chianti is a town in Tuscany and it is here were you will find the best farms of vineyards and olive groves growing high quality grapes and olives where they make the best wines and olive oils and they stretch for hectares and hectares over the mountain hills just lush greens fields as far as your eye can see.

My friend and his wife were touring Italy at the same time i was there with my wife so we had arranged to meet in Tuscany as we were all here not only to look at the vineyards and olive trees but also to do some wine tasting and of course eat as much Italian food as we could this is what Italy is all about drinking wine and enjoying there astounding foods.

Tuscany doesn't only grow grapes and olives they also have spectacular vegetable gardens along Tuscany countryside like tomatoes, lettuce, zucchini, peppers, cucumbers, cabbage and carrots. Also they have the best of strawberry farms and cherry farms and people can come here over the grape harvest period in September and olive picking in November and participate actively taking part in the farming life and enjoying nature at the same time with and getting paid how good is that something i would love to do on a working holiday.

After taking a tour around the vineyards and olives groves it was time for some wine tasting and food and in the Chianti area you are not short of wine cellars and restaurants we soon found ourselves one and the food and the bottle of red wine was on the table. The Chianti red wine is a bit dry with a lovely tart-cherry flavor, mainly from Sangiovese grapes grown in the Chianti area of Tuscany just the way we all like it not to dry with a little fruity taste.

tus_22.jpg

tus_23.jpg

Pasta , fat Italian sausages stuff with herbs and fresh Tuscany tomatoes and a cool Cassata ice-cream for dessert was just the perfect combination for this afternoon lunch.

tus_25.jpg

A simply refreshing baked bread in a bowl style with salad , cheese , tomatoes and Italian basil just delightful.

After that splendid feed it was time to visit the wine cellars in the undergrounds and do some more wine tasting so many to choose from we were all walking out of there wobbling around a bit.

We all stayed in this huge house in Chianti with amazing views over the vineyards and mountains we had booked this house on line the next day we were all still a little hangover but we needed to leave and make our way to the city of Pisa to do a bit of sight seeing and eat , drink more Italian food.

tus_34.jpg

tus_21.jpg

tus_39.jpg

We were like about 100 km from the city of Pisa the Cathedral Square is were we were going we got a local taxi to take us there it was a very comfortable county-side drive through the towns of Chianti and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa when we got to the city of Pisa the vibes of this city seemed very friendly and it looked like how a real European city should look like little hidden cafes in small alleyway , Gothic churches and building dating back to the 12th century just what we wanted to see.

The one main reason we wanted to visit the city of Pisa was to see the learning tower of Pisa it has always amazed me how it hasn't toppled over till this day , from the first moment of it's construction it was built on unstable subsurface soils in year 1173 , the learning tower of Pisa starting tilting further and further to the south so to compensate this the architects starting angling the structure northward to stabilize it's center of gravity resulting in being the way it is today and still standing.

Apart from seeing the area around the Piazza dei Miracoli and the areas around the cathedral and the tower, it's all beautiful but we also wanted to see how the locals lived so we headed of into many alleyways now and then stopping for a bowl of spaghetti or some gelato to cool us down admiring the surrounding at the same time.

Il Valle di Chianti is a fantastic area. I visited it four years ago and fell in love with it. On top of the wineries, restaurants, fantastic little towns, it is home of L'Eroica, the famous vintage cycling race born in Gaiola in Chianti

How could you not fall in love with Chianti it has so much to offer i am looking forward to making another trip to Italy next year. That bike race would have been magical riding through those vineyard valleys and mountains Chianti was also famous for the “Mille Miglia” historic races that took place there also.

Thanks for sharing that video @santigs it was awesome to watch 👍

The views there are awe-inspiringly spectacular! I can just smell the vineyards, olives, and freshly squeezed wine from my laptop... Or so I wish. As is the view, and people, the foods looks superbly delectable. It's been a while since I last had tiramisu, and that thing is just staring into my soul. Isn't Chianti also one of the stops for the Mille Miglia?

(Edited)

Haha, indeed it's a bit hard to keep track since the Mille Miglia stops in quite a lot of places along 1,000-miles! I think that's an important note, since the car is just as synonymous to Italy as wine, olives, cheese, and love-making 😆! In my mind, Italians are the most passionate car enthusiasts anywhere in the world.

You hit the nail on the head we are the most car enthusiasts anywhere in the world apart from our love marking...haha 😂 😂

I was just watching a video of someone reviewing a Ferrari Roma in Italy, and they summarised Italians' attitudes for cars really well... Italian cyclists want you to go faster as you drive by, while cyclists in other countries just want you to go to hell. 🤣

NOTE: Please forgive the not so personal reply that you normally get from me. Although I have enjoyed them, I, unfortunately, have a family funeral to attend on Friday and I have been preoccupied at the moment. Please understand that it was the unexpected death of my brother, who was young, and it was before COVID, but, he was waiting to be buried in Arlington National Cemetery. COVID put his burial off, and now I get to relive it all over again. :/ He will be buried on Friday, with full military honors. There will be no #MarketFriday on Friday October 2. However, if you put one up, or it is scheduled, I will get to it as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding.

#MarketFriday loves you!

Was that you holding up the leaning tower??? :))
