Hello everyone, I really had a hard time looking for topics to write about, maybe it’s because my mind is preoccupied with all the things that need to be finished in school. But looking at those write-ups about our country Philippines I become motivated again to share some fantastic and intriguing facts about my home country, the Philippines.

Did I mentioned the word “again”? Yes, because I wrote about this a long time ago, I hope that as a result of this, Filipinos would be more proud of their country and that other nationalities will appreciate the Philippines even more.

Which Countries Have the Most English Speakers?

Among the top 10 English Speaking Countries in the world, our very own Philippines ranked 5. Obviously United States ranked first while Egypt was the top 10.

Even with the fact that there are about 90 million Filipinos who speak English, our official language is Filipino or Tagalog and surprisingly we used more or less 175 languages. Indonesians will not be surprised with this because they also have a number of languages, 742 to be exact.

TOP SUPPLIER OF NURSES

I am proud to say that Philippines is the top supplier of nurses in the world and there are more than 11 million Filipinos working abroad in different capacities. Our Engineers were recognized as high caliber engineers in the Middle East and some parts of Asia.
We also have Managers deployed in retails shops or stores in Singapore and Papua New Guiniea.

LEADING PRODUCERS OF COCONUT

Did you know that Philippines shipped off about 19 million tons of buko every year? This is one of my favorite drinks because aside from its taste, it also has a lot of health benefits.

I remember I used to buy Manila Buko Juice when I was still working in Saudi Arabia.

THE ONLY CHRISTIAN NATION

What I mean here is that the Philippines is the only Asian nation where Christian dominates the whole country. 90% of the total population of the Philippines are Christians and 80% of those Christians are Roman Catholics.

TEXTING CAPITAL IN THE WORLD

It seems funny but our country is dubbed as the texting capital in the world. Although I’m not sure if the title still belongs to the Philippines because of the presence of social media platforms like Facebook and Messengers, but Philippines used to send 400 million text messages every single day, even more than the total combined text messages being sent in the US and Europe.

LARGEST SHOPPING MALL

Not really the largest but 3 of the 10 largest shopping malls in the world are found in the Philippines. And I’m proud to say that I was once an employee of this company, the SM Malls.

BEAUTIFUL BEACHES

The Philippines is known to have beautiful beaches which includes Boracay, EL Nido in Palawan and Panglao Beach in Bohol.
