An exciting and daring trip!

A dog with biker goggles? Look what stopped at the traffic Lights!

Here I will show you one of the most unbelievable and exciting sights that we have seen here thus far!

There was no ways that I was going to miss this crazy cavalcade, Even though we were going in the opposite direction, being an ex-biker I crossed the lights, turned into a service station in our car and made a quick turn around!
This event took place about 50 kilometers away from the city of Cape Town, in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

127 2.JPG

You didn't see the dog? Look at the sidecar of the first bike above. The guys sitting in the side cars are tourists that were taken on a journey with a difference 😃

132.JPG

Other safety conscious tourists were carried at the top of the red Bedford bus!

137.JPG

As you can see above, we caught up to them and I grabbed the leader for a chat and permission to take photos!

139.JPG

For some strange reason I have never seen any of the bike maker's names before! These are actually war bikes and explained at the end of the post!

147.JPG

This guy above (Brodie, the dog mascot) had a long ride and he rested while all of the people were chatting and laughing about the adventure that was now over.

133.JPG

153.JPG

Old bikers need to take a nap when they can you know?

163.JPG

And then it was done, the tourists had all been taken back to their hotel and the bikers started to leave.

168.JPG

Brodie's nap was over and he had his bikers kit on again.

169.JPG

Farewell Brodie and the guys and nice to meet all of you.

176.JPG

Finally, the Bedford bus was also on its way back to the big city.

And That's All Friends!

Hahaha, if you have a biker's license they will even let you drive one with Lulu in the sidecar JJ.
Agreed, that is one biker dog that one and you can see that he has been on many trips.
Cool calm and collected with his glasses and his bandana lol.

Thank you for the tip my friend.
I started issuing my first BEER tokens today to you and to Piber and I will soon figure out how to do the tip thing.

In the meantime have a !BEER

Not a problem as I am sure that you guys will love a trip around our famous
"Chapman's Peak" mountain road. A mountain pass that runs alongside the ocean and the sights are often on TV.

Oh, I didn't know this and no wonder my beers are not working anymore.
Just my style JJ, as I like to give back lol.

Blessings to you guys for the weekend.

Cheers and NO BEER hahaha.

Honestly, I am not too worried about it JJ, my motto is what will be, will be.

I did a post last year about our drive on that pass, sheer cliffs at the one side and many miles of sea at the other side. Some of the drops down to the ocean are dizzying high.
Then as one comes out of the pass at the other end, a short trip to the cable cars and a ride up to the flat table on top of the mountain. Sights that linger in the mind for a lifetime.

Cheers and thanks!

Ohh those do sound like sights It will live in your memory forever hopefully one day I’ll see it I think I’m dreaming but got to keep positive

We all have our "one day" pet dreams my friend and they normally have a doubting factor connected to them.
I have forever dreamt about touring Europe in one of those rented mobile homes and some of my well off friends actually did it, but we have never been in a financial position to do the tour.
Just one of those empty dreams that pop up every now and then in my mind lol.

I think it’s good to have dreams even if you know that in all likelihood they will never be fooled dreaming is free and trips may not be I think we’re people make the mistake is planning too much for Dreams and getting upset if they never come to Be

Hahaha, you are right. as I have seen so many disappointments resulting from shattered dreams.
That's all that they are, dreams and unless clothed in action, like thoughts, they will always remain just that.

The great thing about dreams is that one can take the most expensive trip around the world mentally for free in a dream lol.

Yep the saying that dreams are free is true I unlike Lulu Don’t like planning or dreaming too far in advance I’m over take it as it comes person where is Lulu likes everything planned out well in advance like she’s already got Christmas day all planned out and not only that she’s planning trips for 2020 LOL I just nod my head and I will find tune it at the time

What? Planning for Christmas day? I am good at planning the charity projects that I write JJ, but in life we are very much alike. It's like this; I sit here working and Marian comes to tell me that it is almost time to go.
So, I stop my work, take may camera outside to take a few shots with the car keys in my pocket and when she comes out then we go. In the car I ask her where to?

Simple and sweet and I also only act on the instance lol.

0

avatar

That does sound like me
Back when I was single I had a travel agent I used and when I needed a break and a long weekend I would just call him and tell him how many days I had he would call me back a little later and tell me which airport and airline I would find out where I was going when I got to the counter

0

avatar

Sounds exactly like some of my own adventures JJ.
But nowadays I only respond to the request that we have to go.
Then it goes like this; please go here, wait there as she pops out of the car, then okay go there, she pops out and back in, then go there and so on we go.
Each time that she pops out and back into the car it gets sprayed with sanitizer that clogs mu lungs, my nostrils and end even my ears hahaha.

We take our little dog for a walk and upon our return she sprays both of us, me and out little dog with sanitizer.
Now we don't want to go on walks anymore lol.

What a Covid life this is lol.

This Covid thing has brought about so many changes that it is stunning JJ.
The office renters are complaining about their empty places as so many people are now working permanently at home. One good thing about this is that there's less traffic on the roads.
And another good one is that people are now at home every day with their kids and no longer away at some office lol.

It feels so weird to drive down the towns main road and all of the people walking in the street have masks on.
Looks like we are traveling on another planet lol.
People are saying that they are expecting a second wave of the virus to hit us and one can only pray and hope that it will not be as severe as the first one.

Glad that you guys are continuing to take care!

Oops and I forgot to say yes most likely I got the TB in Africa

I remember seeing people with masks a lot in Asia but it is strange seeing it here for sure

Thought so as we are riddled here with TB.
So the masks have come home and they might be around for a long time yet lol.

I think its probably picked up in Rwanda, but cannot be certain, and i suspect Maks willbecome second nature to many and stay around more than they ever were

Thankfully TB treatments have seen great improvements JJ and I am grateful that we never picked it up.
Masks are a pain, but rather a mask that getting the virus. My hands have also never been so clean lol.
You are right, as masks feature prominently in our future!

Ohh yeah, what surprised me when I got TB is that it wasn't that rare, at the clinic I had to go to for the weekly and then monthly l checkups while being treated was how many were there for the same reason just at the time i was there the waiting room was packed each and every time

Thats, why I don't complain too much about the masks my thinking, is I may as well get used to them

0
0
0.000
avatar

And I suppose that nobody in that waiting room was wearing masks?
I also ended up in a crowded hospital in Zimbabwe and an old man in a bed across from me fell off his bed. Si, I want to pick him up and all of the other patients whistled at me.
When the doctor came I asked him about the whistling and the old man.
The old man was rife with HIV/AIDS and the patients whistles were warnings that I should not touch him.
But of course I didn't get the sickness and you were not so lucky with the TB.

May I ask if you reported it to the UN and that they compensated you?

0
0
0.000
avatar

Ohh no back then, no one wore masks here, I did wear a scarf and if someone was coughing i would pull it up over my mouth and nose, but I tried to keep distance from people in there, it just seemed common sense to me but not to everyone else

Ohh yeah the UN were told but of course no compensation, they don't work that way

0
0
0.000
avatar

That's the danger of TB methinks. At least you tried to protect yourself with that scarf, but if no one was wearing masks an unguarded moment is all that it takes to get the infection.

Maybe the UN had a disclaimer in the small print of their contracts?

We had a class action law suit here where hundreds of miners took the mines to court in a claim for TB compensation and they won the case. Even though the mines also had disclaimers in place. The Judge declared the disclaimers illegal, as the mines knew that the dangers of contacting TB existed. So now all of the mines have to pay the claimants!

Ohh yeah I am sure. It is in peacekeeping we are often in places with potential having hazards with it be medical health issues or from local fighting etc. it’s something we all signed up for and had to deal with both myself and friends that I’ve had a whole multitude of diseases such as malaria TB dengue fever etc. etc.

0

avatar

Well, they will justify it by saying your expenses were paid and you received a salary lol.
Often times it doesn't work like that, but it's regarded by law as the norm.

I was promoted to foreman at a young age and they sent me out into the country to go and manage construction sites. They paid a hotel and food allowance and the first thing that I did arriving on the sites was to build a small tin shack for myself to stay in. Yes it was primitive and horrible conditions, but I had a wife and 3 little children to feed and my salary was nothing to shout about. So the allowances acted as great bonus to help us out.

Fortunately unlike you, I didn't pick up any sicknesses, apart from a few mishaps at work that earned me some stitches lol.

That made a lot of sense
Save the penny’s and the pounds build up

0

Exactly but I am still perturbed at the UN's stance with regards to your suffering.
Surely they could have given you some relief funding?
After all, they are not a business?

0

I could probably have gone for a medical buyout at some stage but I never felt I needed it I may have some issues but I am doing good and better than so many others

0
0
0.000
avatar

A medical buyout? Do you mean being declared medically unfit and taking a release package?
But how would that have affected your pension and your other benefits?
I also think that it was best for you last for the duration right up to your pension day!

0
0
0.000
avatar

It would have meant I got less in my pension but for some the amount of the buyout would balance that out
My problem would have been I never let when I was sick slow down my work output so accordyto my work records even the TB didn’t affect my ability to work so by forcing myself to keep working did nit help myself

0
0
0.000
avatar

Wow, it's uncanny JJ, as I also have 100% work record.
I think that today we are both paying for not taking better care of ourselves.
But, we did what we had to do, not because anybody forced us to, but rather that's just the way that we are.

0

I let my 100% slip when I broke my ankle but only fir one day by the time I went to the Dr it was almost healed lol
And yes we did it to ourselves with our perhaps crazy work ethic

It is when I saw the absentee figures in the records of a big company that I was managing that I flipped my lid.
There was a staff of about 300 and I can't remember the exact number, but about 14 of them were absent on consecutive Mondays. So I called them in and made a great show of firing them.

The fired guys contacted their union and I had to present evidence of my reasons to terminate their services.
Of course they had no case as I presented their attendance records.
All of a sudden the absenteeism levels in the company dropped drastically.

But you are correct, we are not regular guys lol.

In the last two or three years I did what I found out most do, each year we used to get 7 days uncertified sick leave, and you could also use them as personal days which I had known about but never used, but I did in the last couple of years, I think up until I had TB, I had never taken one sick day let along an uncertified sick day in all my time working

and Regule to me that over rated I don't want to be regular lOL

0

Well at least you started using those days JJ, which was a good thing.
Even now at Papillon I have not one day off.
I think that it has just become a habit for you and me.

Regular is for spooks lol.

No, I don't think you should have used more, as eventually it would have turned into a habit that would have affected your work. You finally stepped out in honor and that's what it is all about.
I doubt that they will get somebody like you again.

I know they miss be from some emails I had
My old boss told me to slow down about 3 years ago he told me that I do the work of four or more people
In fact I know I did when I went on a mission fir a year I took half of my workload with me and it took four people to do the half I left behind in the end

But I couldn’t change it’s just the way I am

0

Yes man, you certainly showed your worth an I knew that they were going to struggle without you around. They would have to appoint four people to do the work of one man lol.

Hahaha, my father in law says exactly the same when his old work contacts him lol.
They have even offered him a contract with a figure that was almost double his old salary, but he told them that he loved his new retirement life too much to return to the slog.

Often retirees get called back in as consultants with double what they were making but I made it clear when I leave I am gone don’t even think about asking

That is a sensible way to look at life.
And of course an amount set aside as a war chest for emergencies 😘

My problem is that our war chest is almost empty after some recent events and I have to find a way to replenish it 😁

0

Well I hope you can build up your war chest soon ours is fading at the moment with the delays closing on our old house but hopefully soon that will come to be and we will be fine

0

avatar
(Edited)

Yes, thank you and I know that we will.
Are there delays with the ownership transfers JJ?
Over here ours took 3 months to conclude!

We rented on a 6 month contract when we arrived here from the apple farm.
They called us to say that the house up north was sold 3 months into the 6 month rental contract and we found this place at the end of the rental contract, At the same time the money for our old house was transferred into our bank.
So we could pay cash for the house, with a bit extra that we took from our war chest!

0
0
0.000
avatar

It’s a long story basically the person buying our house is stuck because if delays of the people buying hers and there was a silly technical hiccup from their employers giving an incorrect figure for something it’s being addressed but delaying the process hopefully for only another week it maybe two closing was meant to be two and a half weeks ago

Frustrating but it will all work out

0
0
0.000
avatar

Ah! I have learned that lesson long ago and have since always waited for a cash buyer.
We had many "subject to" offers for the Papillon property in Johannesburg and even for our old house there, but I refused them all and sure enough, the cash offers came in.

But maybe you guys were pressed for time and let's hope indeed that it will all work out.
Hang in there mate!

0
0
0.000
avatar

Yeah I made a mistake on this one, but we thought this was a solid offer, it would have been except for a technical mistake but he Employee, lets hope it goes through soon

We are doing oK and its not a Worry if its delayed for even another month or so

0
0
0.000
avatar
(Edited)

Yeah, we are praying about it and hope that it will be resolved soon.
Do you know if the money for here place was actually received?

The transferrers will know and let's hope that is not the true hold up JJ.
Else they would have to find another buyer pronto and the transfer could even be further retarded!

0
0
0.000
avatar
(Edited)

It will work out, no money received for anyone yet, as I understand it the Employee of the couple buying the old ladies house now has the correct statement from the university they work at and there mortgage will be approved shortly, which will then get them closed and us able to close.
We were perhaps a little greedy, we got a few offer son our place and when this buyer got told that she upped the offer by 18K which made a very good offer for us and we knew the buyers Daughter worker din a bank and thought that would help, well apparently it is helping and she has got involved to speed up the delay

Both our lawyer who has spoken to the other lawyers, our agent and the daughter of the buyer of our place are all confident it will be cleared and go through soon, I do hope so, would be a pain to have to put it on the market again

0
0
0.000
avatar

Ah, okay I understand now and you were not greedy, as it is normal to want the best price and I would have done the same, as it gives you extra money for the new place.

Good that her daughter became involved as her banking experience can certainly improve things.
Come what may, you still own the property and you haven't lost anything, so if push comes to shove and you have to put it on the market again, you can do so at the same price that the lady offered.
But let's rather hope that the sale will be successful!

0
0
0.000
avatar

Yeah thats what I keep telling myself and that it will all fall into place soon

I know her daughter well, she was the one lead the team selecting images for the Bank Murals and they picked mine a few times so I met her and others at the bank

and yes if the worse happens and the sale falls through it will be better for us as they have spend a lot of money putting in hard wood floors in the condo which increases its value, I do hope for the old lady buying it that doesn't happen as it would be lost investment for her, but it does make me confident the delay is not on her part

0
0
0.000
avatar

Ah! So she has started on the house already and that is a great omen my friend.
Great that her daughter selected your pictures for murals, you must have been chuffed.

I think that you can consider it sold my friend and as you say, the work that she has done there will be added value. Just a pity that she would lose out, but in case it happens you can sell at a higher price and pay her for the spend on the floors. Then nobody loses out, except that she will end up without a house.
But I don't think that her daughter will allow such a situation.

You are wise just to wait it out!

0

Ohh yeah I was chuffed seeign my photos as a huge Mural was so so cool, and they were huge, I will send a photo of one if I can find it :)

Yes we do consider it sold, we heard from our agent yesterday and it seems it is on track for closing on or before the 15th so that's a relief

Marian said; "Wow! You wouldn.t think of a beautiful photo like that on a bank".

And she is right, as somehow your photo gives that building a great appearance my friend.
You should blow this one up and mount it on a poster to hang on you camera room wall.

So glad to hear the news about your old place and the 15th is just around the corner JJ. Happy news indeed!

I have had about 6 or maybe more murals on that bank but that one was my favorite
And I may just do a print as you suggest

I might have seen the others in post form, but they will have to be great to achieve the same special look on that bank JJ.

Reason why I mentioned it, is that Marian also wants me to hang some block mounts of my pictures in the study here.
I think it's a good idea also for you!

Ohh Lulu has made sure we have my photos on the walls of most rooms here :) a mix of paper and canvas prints I had from exhibits I have done

Good for Lulu and I am glad that they are up.

Yes man, that walkway looks very cool and it also means that you guys will not be walking mud into the house after rains. An ideal spot also under that tree.
You also seem to have a lot of space there to convert that garden into a natural paradise for the birds JJ.

We love it up early as they will be here around 6 AM again today

Those tree roots have gone everywhere including heading to where the concrete is and house and will have to go
I hate chopping down trees but I think based on advise of a few people they will be a problem with time so will get rid of them and will most likely plant some new smaller ones

0

Good and hope that all will be done!

What I do, is if a see a roots heading towards the house, I dig the roots open and I cut them off. It doesn't kill the the tree to lose a few roots and it protects the walls.
But, you have to do what you must lol.

A happy day to you guys!

These trees are pretty old and inthe last storm we had a few branches came down, luckily not to big and not onto the house but don't want to risk it so we decided to take them down, currently planning to do it with a friends company on the 27th

I did plan to climb the tree with my step son on the ground to help and do it myself but got vetoed lOL

You to have a great day

0

What? You climb a tree to cut it down?
I never had the thought that you are senile JJ, but now I have my doubts 🤣
It's like telling me that I must climb Kilimanjaro 🤣

Better that you stick to that friend's company, as we don't want to pay millions for hospital expenses that we don't have lol.

A good point maybe 10 years ago I would have done it but getting some common sense with age lol

0

Hahaha, this is what they don't tell us JJ.
They should advise that we should change our thinking patterns to suit our age.

As we get older, we have to learn how handle the surprises that comes along with aging.
At 20,30 or 40, we could scale up a tree with no problem and we continue to think that we can, even at the age of 80 hahaha

Fortunately there are caring people around that tell us that we can't do that anymore lol.

0

That’s true life doesn’t come with a manual but as you say if your lucky as we are we have loved ones around us who give us good advise we just need to listen

Hahaha, isn't it true that women knows everything JJ?

The problem is that I am a bit stubborn and against sound advice I was up and down the ladder doing the carport roof the whole day.
The guy that helped me is in his 30s and I can't allow a man of that age to think that I couldn't do just as well as he did!

So, today I sit with a few pains that I am sure he does not have 🤣

0

Well even if it is true or not I will not say either way especially if either of our wives may read our comments so as they say here I plead the fifth LOL

I am a bit the same way, I think part of it, is in the back of our minds we still haven't conceded were not in our thirties anymore LOL

rest up and I hope the aches go away

its funny as the first mural I had from the bank when I looked at it on the PC I never noticed when I merged the three exposure a geese had moved, and on the big mural when I went and saw it, it looked like the goose had three heads lOL

gladly i am not sure anyone else ever noticed that

I think Marian is right as I mentioned in another reply, Lulu had done that in our new place

From the road or even driving around the bank you would nit notice the three heads nit many walked up by it like I did. So that’s why it wasn’t noticeable for most

Especially if you choose the city tour that runs over that famous "Chapman's Peak" mountain pass. It runs alongside the ocean on has views that are to die for.

Maybe when you have some time, Google "Chapman's Peak, Cape Town" and you will see what I am talking about.

No need whatsoever to drop down JJ, a slight bit more effort will get you up there where you belong.
I run a standard system and will not increase it.

Yeah, I figured that it will take about two weeks. Are you going to use anything for the borders?

Last week you were 5th and I congratulated you on it.
So yeah, just keep on doing what you are and you will get up there again.

Borders can be a headache as there are so many options. If you are going to tile the slab, then tile borders work well, but if you leave it raw cement then you can always think about cent bordering pavers.
Over here I have wood blocks as a pathway bordered by smooth river rocks.

Hahaha, yeah, I read about you firepit experience and you are now a house owner JJ.
This means that you will forever have lists of little things to do and once you have completed one list and you think that it's all over, then another list starts hahaha.

The hardware and tool shops love home owners and I wonder why lol.

0

OHh yeah the list grows faster than I can take care of things, but that's all good as it is things we want to do and we can set our own schedule for them :)

So nice to have a list and to have a budget to cover it JJ.
You can work out a roster, but I prefer to do it in project form and our budget can only cover the most immediate things. So the other must wait lol.

They delivered the canvas (thick waterproof truck goods covers) today that I am going to use to replace our carport roof that the wind ripped apart.
So tomorrow I am going to buy some flat metal binding straps to reinforce the pole roof frame by strapping the to the carport posts. Once the frame is secured, I will treat the wood and next Saturday we will put the new canvas roof on.
So project carport will be completed.

Then project shower will be next with an extractor fan for the steam and installing a gas geyser to replace the electrical one.

That's it for this year my friend, apart from the garden of course.

Well to be honest some had to be cut from the list as we would not have the budget for them, and some on our list may never come to be, but as we discussed recently its nice to have dreams and some may come about :)

Thats great you will have your carport back in shape this week

0

That is always also the case with us JJ.
Yes, one can have great dreams to put on that list, but when it comes to the finances it only remains empty dreams.
We had the dream to support 4 charities with Pappilon's monthly contributions, as they work with women and children. Thus far we can only help two of them with small monthly amounts.
The one is our local "Rape Crisis Center" and the other is the "Victim Support Unit" of the police.
But, hopefully over time we will be empowered to help the other two as well.

Cool post Zac 👍😁
Great photos and lots of information 😊

I would never want to ride such a bike, not as rider and certainly not as passenger, that would scare me to death 🤣

A friend of mine has rebuilt a Russian war bike and he loves it. His wife loves to sit in the side car. But you have to be very careful and never forget that there's something to the right side when you ride, he says 😉

Thank you Hannes,
Glad that you liked the post.

I in turn would love to pilot something like that, just to get the feel of it lol.

Hahaha, in our case one would have to never forget that there is something on the left side lol.
We drive at the left side of the roads and pass on the right.
But I hear what your friend says and it could be a problem if one forgets about the sidecar.

Cheers and thank you!

I think that it is the old UK system of driving, as were were a British colony once long ago.
Some of their old laws are still in effect here today, as we also continue to use the UK legal system.
No juries, as just a prosecutor and a judge in court.

It makes it a bit difficult for Saffers that tour overseas, as they then have to drive on the "wrong" side of the road over there hahaha.

Cheers and thanks.

Oh yeah you laugh, but it really happens Hannes.
My daughter told me that they almost made that mistake many times when they were in a deep discussion in the car and on instinct turned to the left hand side of the road in Europe.
They got married in Rome and traveled all over from their base in London.

So yes, maybe you should only take Taxis when you find yourself in England lol.

Cheers and thanks!

Shoes have always been a problem for me Hannes,
At one stage in my life I was well off and I could have my shoes hand made, but now they only import shoes from China and no one in China has my size feet lol.

I wear size 11 extra wide as my foot bridge is high and my feet are wide. Even the camping boots squeeze my feet and in the army I had to wear size 12 boots that left me with many blisters.

So now I only have one pair if "Hi-Tech" adjustable camping shoes that I wear everywhere. The soles are smooth rubber and they love to slip and slide hahaha.
You will laugh when you see me dancing to keep my balance on the wet rocks at the sea lol.

In the mountains on the steep parts I also often almost kiss the ground hahaha.

Such is life!

Cheers and thanks!

Oh well, in that case I could use your shoes as canoe if we have to cross a river or lake 🤣
I think my skis are even shorter, so we could use the shoes also if we have to climb over a mountain to get faster down to the valley in winter time … your shoes have many purposes, they are not only shoes, they are multifunctional survival gear, if you know how to use them and don't slip out on rocks or so 😉

I thought that your mom taught you this as a teeny bopper lol.
You are now equating my precious shoes to canoes and skis and my heart is sore hahahah!
My shoes are multifunctional dancing gear and why do you think that they called me "anchors" in the army? lol.

Have a blessed day mate!

Hahaha, the word offend doesn't exist in my head's library Hannes.
Guys used to tease me by saying that my ears are so wide that they look like two open garage doors.
Yes indeed, I used to answer. The doors must be open to park my "Shelby Cobra" inside lol.

Canoes definitely has a better ring to it hahaha.

And a hearty good night also to you my friend!

Hi Hannes,

Are you also in those meetings where a lot of talking takes place and nothing gets done?
I have become seriously allergic to meetings lol. Especially church meetings!

We had some visitors here today by friends from up north, as they brought the mother down to visit her son daily in one of the hospitals here. The son has cancer in his brain and now after the operation he has constant illusions. A sad story.

Hahaha, so your boss can come and join me at the "Big Ear" gliding club hahahah!

Hi Hannes,

You are right and that's what I call constructive meetings.
The ones I am talking about are the ones that when people walk in, they eye the refreshments table and then sit down to make small talk about families, pets, broken washing machines and what not.

Yeah, this is life my friend and I am sparse with the sad stories, so as not to create negativity.

Hahaha, I can imagine this;

Hannes, "Boss, my friend in South Africa said that you are welcome to join the "Big Ear" flying club"!
Boss, "How does he know that I have big ears"?
Hannes, "Well Sir, no offence, but we were discussing radar dishes and big ears slipped into the conversation I told him that your ears are also slightly out of proportion, but don't worry boss, his ears are bigger than yours"
Boss, "Hannes, take the day off and go look for another job"

Of course you will have a different version of the discussion and let's hear it?

Cheers and thanks!

Good morning Zac,

I know what meetings you mean and sometimes I can't avoid such, but I love constructive meetings (constructive was the word I was looking for but didn't find ;).

I don't call him Sir and he can't fire me, that's the good thing. We went to police school together and he sat in front of me and most times I couldn't see the chalk board - guess why 🤣 lol

Good afternoon Hannes,

Yeah, constructive meetings normally result in planned actions taking place that are reported at the next meeting as successfully completed. Those are great meetings.
As for all of the others, they can keep it lol.

They have now invited me twice to become a member of the complex committee here and I have refused twice. Now I hear that I will be invited for a third time at the upcoming meeting that we don't attend.
Some people will never learn!

Doesn't sound as if you have very much respect for the guy Hannes. I like your diplomatic talk about the guy's ears covering the chalk board like two fleshy curtains hahaha.

Cheers and thanks!

Hi Zac,

correct, these are the meetings I like because they help my work and don't waste my time.

Some people are learn resistant.
I don't know what such a committee does, so I can't tell you my opinion about it.

Oh, I do respect him, but in our department we are more informal and not so very serious. We work hard but we also have fun and talk stupid things 😂

Fun Brigade sure does look like loads of fun to go touring through the city like this, ideal on either mode of transport.

Fun brigade indeed Lady Joan and I was told that many bigger families also use them.
I can imagine a group of ladies having a champagne party in the top of that bus while the husbands are cruising along in the sidecars.

A brilliant idea indeed to show tourists the beauty of our country and I am glad that you liked it.

I don't know if you have ever been in a sidecar, but it is indeed a fun experience.
In the old days they had sidecar races and whenever the guy on the bike had to make a sharp right turn at speed, the guy in the sidecar would hook his legs inside the car and hang outside the car with his back inches above the road.

Maybe there's a video somewhere about sidecar racing, as I don't have enough data to search for one. But it is a great experience to watch the daring actions.
