An Unforgettable Paradise (Eng/Esp)

English version

No matter how you look at it, Tocuchare Beach is a paradise. I’ve always wanted to live near a beach, but fate hasn’t granted me that wish, which is why I tend to enjoy my walks by the sea so much. Just as I’ve done before, I walk along the shore as far as I can go, exploring various scenes along the way.

On this exploration, after rounding a corner and passing a half-collapsed pier, I came upon a stretch of shore without rocks—one that isn’t visible from the spot where I’d arrived with my family; in other words, it was out of sight. As I walked along this unknown path, I came to a churuata, a very well-maintained area that provides shade for a large group of people.

At that moment, everything seemed so quiet and empty, so in a way I felt as if that space were mine; I imagined the gatherings I’d have there if it were real. I thought the ceramic floor with its eye-catching mosaic was great; it also had a nice grill, as well as concrete tables and benches to sit on. This churuata has an exit to the upper level via a staircase.

However, the best part was the ocean view. You could practically breathe in the tranquility from this privileged vantage point. I also loved a rock wall that surrounded a small, arid garden, where some Trinitarias stood out. Most of these beach houses belong to vacationers, so they remain empty most of the time; some are looked after by neighbors who live in the community.

As I walked, I realized that the proximity of the beach to the buildings might mean that the sea is advancing, because it seems illogical to me to build so close to the sea when this force of nature is capable of eroding metal and concrete. Fortunately, the beach was fairly deserted, and I was able to complete my walk without any issues because I passed through several porches of these houses; so if it were peak season, it would be difficult to finish the walk without disturbing people.

I really enjoyed this walk to Tocuchare; the variety of settings—all on the same beach—fascinated me. A calm sea on one side and a rough sea on the other; a blue vista from the west and a green one from the east; a sandy shore at one end, while other parts were covered in rocks and coral. I found this diversity very interesting, and I’ve shown it to you in photos—it’s a spectacular place that’s definitely worth a visit.
