Hi Everyone,

It's been 3 years since we had an overseas holiday so flying out from Sydney was pretty exciting for the whole family. Luckily our credit card provided some lounge passes so we decided to check out The House lounge at Sydney International Airport after security clearance. The kids were super excited about the whole experience as they are much older than a few years ago. Hubby and I have two passes each, and both kids come in as guests so our entry this time was all complimentary.

Once we all signed in, we found a table and started to check out what food and drinks were available as it was right at dinner time. The lounge wasn't very big so there were a number of passengers there also having dinner. The selection of food was pretty disappointing compared to the last time when we were at a lounge in Fiji 3 years ago but I guess its better than having Macdonalds at the food court. There were a few salad dishes, vegetarian dishes and only 1 protein dish. A range of soft drinks, juice and tea and of course, lots of alcohol.

Hubby and I don't drink especially knowing we will have a long flight ahead with the kids, we just had a quick meal and got some last-minute work in before our flight. The lounge was a tiny kids play area but it was too simple for our boys so they were with us the whole time.

There were the usual showers and prayer room in the lounge and all toiletries were Loccitane which was a nice touch just before boarding. The lounge was acceptable if it was complimentary but if we were to pay the online price at $66 or walk in $77, that price would have been pretty disappointing. Overall, it was a good stop before we board our flight, the kids were fed and had enough rest before heading to our next destination.

I know people, who would be very happy if these foods would be on their tables/desks. Maybe with the exception of the "lots of alcohol". Many people would be happy even for the simplest foods.

For that price, only having alcohol will really make it worth going in. But yes simple food is really enough in most cases

I was thinking that's so extravagent to go in a lounge!!!!!! It's quite a small one for an international airport, and for that price!!!!
