School Lunch in Thailand! Part Two (7 photos)

Not too long ago my friend who works as an English teacher in a public elementary school sent me a photo of her lunch. It was the same lunch that they serve the children. To put it mildly, I was impressed! It looked a bit better than what I had as kid growing up in the 90s in the United States. With out me asking she started sending me a few photos each week. Then she suggested me to do a school lunch photo series for my blog.

Being a fan of food and culture I figured why not do a series of School Lunches from Thailand! The people and the food is so much of what makes each country unique, it really is what keeps me excited about traveling even after 18 years of living mostly out of a backpack. When you go to a new place things are done differently and it can be seen from the language, the clothing, money, food, architecture, social norms, art, theater, even which side of the road they drive on!

Here in this blog series we'll take a look into how they do school lunch for the kids which is clearly representation of a people and culture. Besides the delicious looking Thai food they get to eat everyday; I was told that it's an all you can eat buffet, and it's free! No extra charge for these kids attending a regular government run public school. Now come along and lets have a closer look at what the kiddies are eating for lunch here in Chiang Mai Thailand!

THANK YOU

Absolutely. I always feel healthier in Thailand. I has to be the food! Amazing how in my country the US quality fruit and veg is often quite expensive, but in Thailand it's usually the cheapest thing you can buy. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a nice message :)

Man that looks yummy and awesome I was lucky to get a banana or a apple in my days as a kid at school hard times with 7 kids in the family 🤣

Oh wow. You are one of seven! Man, that's a big family! My grandfather and grandmother had 11 siblings in each family coincidentally, but that was back in the 1920! School lunch in the US growing up in the 90s was disgusting!

It really is big families can be a real bonus if they work as a team and we have done that a lot together 👍

Well at least you have one brother better then none.

That is great that you guys all work so well together. A lot of families that size have at least one drama queen that rattles the cage. That is good to hear that you all do well together. Just awesome!

I think we all rattled the cage as younger kids but we all surprisingly come out of our cages and became more sensible as we got older...hehe ...and all good now 👍
