My Walk Through Square Bolivar (Eng/Esp)

It has become a routine for me to go out and explore different parts of the city; this helps me clear my mind, get a little exercise, and take in nature in all its splendor. I like listening to the sound the leaves make as they rustle in the breeze; it’s quite relaxing.
Today I enjoyed the grounds of Plaza Bolivar, one of the largest squares in Cumana. There stands the statue of the Liberator, which is massive and looks majestic. Without a doubt, it’s the most iconic symbol of this public space. People are always paying tribute to Bolívar and leaving floral tributes there.
This place is ideal for spending a unique afternoon, breathing in fresh air or enjoying time with the family. I’ve noticed that there are always children here playing with skateboards, bicycles, and even balls. They’ve become the joy of this place; their smiles and antics are always present.
The plaza is surrounded by various points of interest, including the Sucre State Government Building, the Government Palace, and the birthplace of Andres Eloy Blanco. These iconic sites bear witness to history. I’ve always been struck by the statues of Paria and Araya that protrude from the facade of the Government Palace—goddesses who embody and honor the beliefs of the people of Cumana.
I love strolling around here and observing the different types of palm trees, which are quite striking and provide shade. These plants are the most common because they’re ornamental, and in this diverse garden, they fulfill their purpose: to beautify.
I also noticed a large mango tree, and since it’s mango season, its fruits are in full view—and not a single one goes to waste, as the city’s residents make the most of its bounty. The mango should also be declared a national treasure.

Se ha vuelto una rutina salir a conocer diferentes lugares de la ciudad, esto me ayuda a despejar la mente, realizar un poco de ejercicio y contemplar la naturaleza en todo su esplendor. Me agrada escuchar el sonido que hacen las hojas de los árboles cuando se mueven con la brisa, es bastante relajante.
Hoy disfruté de las instalaciones de la Plaza Bolívar, una de las más grandes de Cumaná. Allí reposa la estatua del libertador, la cual es de gran tamaño y luce de forma majestuosa. Sin duda, el símbolo más representativo de este espacio público. Siempre le rinden homenajes a Bolivar y le colocan sus ofrendas florales.
Este lugar es idóneo para pasar una tarde diferente, respirando aire puro o compartiendo con la familia. He notado que acá siempre hay niños jugando con patinetas, bicicletas e, incluso,con sus pelotas. Ellos se han convertido en la alegría de este sitio, sus sonrisas y ocurrencias no pueden faltar.
La plaza está rodeado por diversos lugares de interés, entre ellos: la gobernación del estado Sucre, el palacio de gobierno y la casa natal Andrés Eloy Blanco. Sitios emblemáticos que dan cuenta de la historia. Siempre me ha llamado la atención las estatuas de Paria y Araya que sobresalen de la fachada del palacio de gobierno, diosas que identifican y honran las creencias del pueblo cumanés.
Me encanta pasear por acá y observar las diferencias palmeras, las cuales son bastantes llamativas y nos ofrecen sombra, estas plantas son las más frecuentes, debido a que son ornamentales y en este jardín diverso logran su cometido; embellecer.
También me fijé que hay un gran árbol de mango y como es temporada, sus frutos se dejan ver y allí no tienen ningún desperdicio, pues los habitantes de la ciudad aprovechan sus bondades. El mango también debería ser declarado patrimonio nacional.
