Day 14 Part 05 Blogging Challenge: If My House Was On Fire

Hello everyone, today I'll be answering the question asking the one non-living item I'd grab if my house was on fire. First off, as the Nigerian that I am, I'm going to say, "God forbid my house catches fire". Even in imaginations we don't accept bad scenarios.

This makes me remember when I was little and there was a community crisis where we lived. People where being killed, houses were burnt and we could see the smoke afar off. The fight was getting worse as the days went by and we got scared when it seemed to be really close to our area.

One evening, we all got into the car with about three of our neighbour's kids and fled somewhere else. Luckily, nothing bad happened to us or the house when we were back home. I remember us getting into the car with nothing but the clothes on our backs. At that point, staying alive mattered most and no one bothered to pick up anything while we were running away. Now I imagine the amount of loss we'd have had if the house was set on fire.

If I was ever in a fire outbreak situation, I think the one thing I'd grab is the file where I have all my certificates. Nothing else is as important to me. It's hard getting back lost certificates here in Nigeria for any reason and I wouldn't want the stress that comes with not having your original certificates. Every other thing can burn lol.

😂😂 it is the as a "Nigerian" for me.

For me too I'd rather grab my certificates first. You never know when might need them and like you said it's stressful getting those back in Nigeria.

It's most likely impossible to get certificates reissued here. Better guard them no matter what
