Kinds of people when reading.
When it comes to reading to assimilate, we are different from each other because we have diverse methods we use to read. You just need to find the one you belong to or else, you will fail woefully especially when it comes to reading for exams. It makes me wonder to see some people which would make me think they are exceptional from others but I believe we all are different but unique as long as we know what we are doing.
I fall into this category because I love a calm and quiet area to read and assimilate. Once a place is noisy or rowdy, I find it difficult to read as I will keep reading a line many times until I find another alternative to leave such a place.
These type of people prefers to read at midnight because it's always silent, peaceful and calm. They will easily remember all they have read since nothing or no one is disturbing them. Others in this category prefer reading during the day because they won't like to wake up at midnight to read.
A friend of mine is in this category as she would go to school very early in the morning and read till the evening. She wants to enjoy her sleep during the night and whatever she has read during the day is enough for her to cover up.
The first time I saw this type of reader amazed me. I was shocked and asked her how she grasp and understand. She said it's so easy for her as she plugs in her earpiece, and she is good to go. I hail these people because no matter the volume of the music they are listening to, it is a trigger for them to concentrate and grasp on time.
This type isn't different from the music reader because it's just like noise around them. A lady told me she can't read and understand unless she is in the midst of a group of people. Her secret is reading while people are chatting or engaging in different talks. I give my kudos to people like this too. Just like I said, we all are unique when it comes to reading to assimilate.
With people like this, they believe they can't read without saying each line out. As they keep reading, they read aloud disturbing other people who are reading silently or listening to music. Sometimes it makes me think they are just being proud and want us to know they can read and pronounce words correctly 🙄
These ones are too good because no matter how much they walk around, they will read and cover up all courses. They are easily motivated and inspired while walking around and reading. They will even be staring at humans or objects around them while they walk and they still understand what they are reading. When they walk and stare at people, they aren't looking at them because their thoughts are far from such a person as they have gone far or deep into reading and understanding whatever they are reading.
These are types of readers I have noticed around me and I wouldn't mind reading more in the comment section or you can tell me which category you fall into.
I am a silent reader. I cannot comprehend when there are words being said out loud, even if they are the same words! So you remember in school when teachers would make students read aloud to practice? I would plug my ears and read ahead until the kid ahead of me was speaking, then I would find where they were so I could read my paragraph next, do that, and then go back to plugging my ears.
I get confused sometimes if captions are on in the same language the people in a show are speaking, too. I have to look away and just listen.
I find it so difficult to understand when there are people talking around me when I am reading. I won´t get anything until everywhere is silent.
Yes, I remembered then and I even made students read aloud when I was a teacher too but I believe not every student would understand unless they read on their own and understand in a calm area.
Yes, the same thing with me. I would prefer not to look at the show while I listen because the image or picture takes my focus away from listening.
I am the silent reader but could be the music reader sometimes and also noisy reader. I really dont have a choice on the last two because there are circumstance that is unavoidable 😆

There are some circumstances you cannot avoid but succumb. Hahahaha
I fall into the first and third category my dear princess. When I felt like reading it silent, I really do it that way and then the opposite. I think its because of my mood. Hehe. As for the rest, I think I can't focus on reading especially when there is music.
No matter how interesting the book is, if the music is on, I won´t enjoy it and so, I try to move away from such area for my own good. Hey, Renren, nice to meet you on Hive 😍

Well I'm a silent reader too preferably at night when there is no noise but if I had to read somewhere I can't avoid noise then I can also cope with music but it has to be a calm background sound that is consistent just to block the random sounds in my surrounding.
As for the read-aloud reader, I laughed😂😂 this one is disqualified from using libraries or shared reading space. They better find a place to read there alone.
It would be fun to be around them if they also read their messages and bank notification aloud😂😂

I fall in the first category. I can never read in a noisy environment. One small movement gets me reading a line so many times. I love total calm while reading. A noisy and empty room to myself while studying?... Even better!
I only entertain music or noise when I am taking a break from reading.
The walk-around readers are found mostly in schools. Especially when it's few hours to their test.
I don't understand how the other categories of people cope with their methods. But then, it's their method and it works for them.

I'm also a silent reader, when I get my preference, but mostly I'm a noisy reader just because there is so much going on while I try to read.
You forgot about the two-book readers... the ones who need a dictionary to help them understand the book they're trying to read!

What if I confess I am all of the readers spoken on this post, I can comprehend in any case when reading but I do love reading with music and sometimes in silence depending on my mood😁
I am all the type of readers except the read aloud.
I love reading in the night. I love reading with music. I can read in a noisy place. And yes, I enjoy reading and pacing around.
I use different method depending on what I want to accomplish.

Am majorly a silent reader, I love reading in a cool and calm environment. But at times I find myself walking around or listening to music. But noisy environment is a no for me, I would not grab anything
