Thanks for sharing your experiment. Lock down seems like a good time for it. I once considered myself a “young coffee drinker.” That was about 8 years ago, but it feels like 108 years ago.

Tea seems like the best way to taper off this new thing you speak of called “caffeine addiction.” 😃 (Jk, not new, I’m just scared.) Maybe just a warm small cup of green tea to reduce the headache?

I just learned how to make myself Americanos at home. I conducted an experiment too. I asked what the average bean weight was. They said 14-16 grams. I went home and measured the amount of beans I typically used at home. To keep a long story short, my normal amount was less than the standard 14-16.
I was proud.
Now, I’m starting to creep up to the 14-16. 😳
I will think of this post and resist. Conditioning our taste buds is fun.
